A survivor of the deadly candy factory explosion in Pennsylvania last March credited a lucky fall into a vat of liquid chocolate with saving her life.
The female line worker, 50 (name withheld here for obvious reasons) was on her shift at the RM Palmer factory in West Reading when a natural gas explosion blew apart the building and set the worker's right arm on fire.
Seconds later, the floor gave way and she landed in the vat of chocolate, which not only helped cushion the fall but extinguished the flames on her arm.
She has been hospitalized with serious injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.
Chocolate can save your life!
PS: Yes this is a real story. PPS: The woman's family has a GoFundMe page to help cover her hospitalization and therapy. I'd like to post the link with the mods' OK.
