Been married a long time and last time I got messy with wife was a long time ago (20 years ago ) that didnt go as planned. I am doing some experimentation alone (so we don't have a fail again) and I am glad I did because something like this would have turned into something my wife would have not gotten into and I could lose my window. Anyhow, I ruined a pair of new socks about a month ago by walking over a greasy parking lot and decided I should be punished by being covered in my own "grease" I made. It was glorious, looked the part, felt great and had very low smell factor but when it was time to wash up, there were all kinds of elastic black clumps (kind of like dingleberies) that took a long time to remove from my chest/leg hair with a comb. I am dying to try this with the wife but need to modify the fomula to avoid this happening in the future. I have no idea which one of these ingredients could have done it, so if the Hive Mind could help I will list them all.
The ingredients I used were:
Devils Food Cake Mix (two boxes which kept smell to minimum) Flour (one package) Black Food Coloring (two containers) Oats (two containers) Water
Not sure if it makes a difference but I did use a paint mixer attachment on the drill to to some mixing throughout. What did I do wrong and how can I adjust this to make this a win? Thanks in advance.
It is the flour. What you're seeing is gluten. Packaged cake mixes are processed in a way to prevent the gluten from forming. Either stick to mixes or use a gluten free flour and you'll be fine.
