None of our people have, our mud location is tidal, though a bit above what most would consider the estuary. But anywhere with regular tides should be ok with the water consrtantly coming in and out so refreshed.
We've always avoided shooting in canals due to the risk of low-movement water.
Not an eye infection, but maybe a decade ago I got a nasty MRSA infection in some river mud.
One of the reasons I didn't do full coverage last year when everyone was asking me to! I learned the hard way that a small owie in a little toe by the nail can leave you touch & go from potentially needing to have your leg removed.
Luckily, the antibiotics did the trick - uncomfortably close to the deadline the doc set for the infection to stop spreading and start receding.
