Emi is a 12 inch silicone female replica, a 'doll' for all intents and purposes. (though very realistic)
I've been getting some requests for specific scenarios, and I'm not against trying them. However, please think of the size before suggesting something.
For example, I was asked to do a photoset with beans. Really? Each bean would be as big as her hand, so they would be the size of grapefruits. Same request with eggs. An egg would be three times as wide as her head, so even if we said they were ostrich eggs, it would not look very convincing.
Some suggestions that I WILL be doing are a tar and feathering and a dunk tank. Of course it will take a bit of time to rig up a tiny dunk tank, but it should look believable. As for tar and feathers, I have to cut the feathers into much smaller sizes to look real, but that should be easy.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know and I'll try to do them. In the meantime, I'd sure appreciate any feedback on Emi's posts. The last one has hundreds of views, but nobody is commenting. Comments go a long way towards me improving what I'm doing. This is all free as well, I'm not selling anything, though in a way I am producing wam scenarios, but on a smaller scale. A bit of commentary would go a long way. (check the last post too, found HERE )
The photo is from a future comic strip adventure featuring melted ice cream.
Here's a poll for a few possible future scenarios.
Hi Emi (and you too, Bobographer). As you can see, you have been getting some votes on your poll (and well as requests as you mentioned). There are some people out there that are interested in your "artwork" (as well as mine). I apologize for not replying on every post that you have made. You have just been making a whirlwind of posts. I have been "liking" your posts and work.
I'm going to be working on some new photoshoot project for the new year. As you have stated, we are not getting any money out of this so we would appreciate a little compliment and acknowledgment for our efforts. Happy Holidays and I hope you have a great new year.
The Diminutive Divas would like to compliment you too as well, Emi. You really are a slapstick queen and they really love the silly (and messy) situations you get yourself into. Happy (and Messy) Holidays!!!!

Interesting because I'm setting up for a photo shoot featuring her favorite which is lemon-meringue pie. It's not an actual pie though, as consistencies must be changed in order to make substances realistic at a smaller scale. For example, in real life, a blob of lemon pie filling wouldn't sit on a model's shoulder and not fall off. It would break or melt and fall or drip, so I have to make substances somewhat 'wetter' to make it look real. I should probably buy a banana cream pie and carefully separate the two layers, water them down a bit, then put it back together. That way when she jumps in, the mess will react properly. Shit, you'd think I was a scientist or something! LOL
Anyhow, I'll post a sample photo from today's shoot with the lemon-meringue.

Hey there, Twilight Man, thanks for the comments. Your talk balloons look great, and I'm anxious to see what you come up with in the new year. I've decided to only do one 'Emi's Adventure' post per week. I sort of got excited and flooded the forum with too many posts.

Emi is a 12 inch doll, but with very adult features. Normal feathers would look HUGE next to her, so they must be cut down to scale in order to look like actual feathers next to her.
Been enjoying the whole series you're doing. Certainly a niche, but really interesting to see what you come up with. As you mention, some things don't scale well with the model. Two things which I do notice... (and I mention these only to add constructive discussion, not in any derogatory means at all) 1) The coarseness of the hair in relation to the overall scale. 2) In some instances, the coarseness of the fabric / clothing in relation to the overall scale.
So based on that, the requests: 1) Basically any scenes where the hair is coated thickly enough to hide the individual strands. 2) I'd be tempted to say 'naked shots', but I actually enjoy the messy clothes, too. I wonder if any fabric has a finer weave which would be more in scale with the model.... possibly spandex instead of cotton?
Hair is a problem for sure. The hair on this model is pretty fine, but it is still hair and looks far too coarse when you see a single strand in a close-up. Keeping it messy is one way of hiding that, or I could slightly wet it and put it in a pony-tail.
As for fabric, most of the clothing items are specially made for the Phicen figures, using very fine-weave materials. The real problem is when repairs are needed and my old needle-and-thread comes into play. I would have to be a brain surgeon to get the stitching fine enough. The white dress is an 'official' clothing item with very fine threads, including where the stitching is.
One very real problem I have encountered is dust. Emi is made of silicone, so when the limbs are bent into positions, the 'skin' will create folds, or stretch much the way our human skin does. The downside of this is that the silicone seems to be a dust magnet. If you've handled fishing lures, you know what I mean about the 'sticky' feel to silicone items. Washing with water, or soap and water does little good. I usually wind up Photoshopping the worst of the dust particles.
Another problem is wetlook. Water has a surface tension that makes it flow a certain way. A water drop on Emi would look enormous - like the size of an orange. Lastly, air bubbles in any messy substance also look over-sized, so once more Photoshop comes in handy for getting rid of them.
My goal though, is to continue making these little sequences more and more life-like. Here's a sample from the upcoming 'Tar and Feathers' series.
Thanks for your comment! (oh and there is a mud adventure coming up soon)
