I have noticed that in some videos (and photoshoots), that flour is used. Sometimes in vast quantities, so they look like a snow person.
However flour is dry, so should it be included under the WAM umbrella as a substance to use? I get then when mixed with water etc. It becomes WAM but on its own should it not be DAM (Dry And Messy)?
Any thoughts.

Yes, an interesting thought. I really think that we should all be free to enjoy whatever images we like, according to the site's terms. I love "dry" pictures because often it is the anticipation of getting wet/ messy that is so exciting. I used to have a similar issue with swimsuit pics. I think that swimsuits are beautiful, and part of that is the intention of a swimsuit wearer to get wet. Even if the picture itself is dry. So I am open to the idea of enjoying "dry" substances like flour, too. Peter

Flour is underrated So is dry dirt by the way
Was watching quest for fire and noticed a few scenes that where dry especially with mud and paint when it dried
I guess mine is that WAM means "Wet and Messy", and it's true that flour is technically only messy.
But if it's done in the same spirit as the wet-only WAM or as an element in a scene that is already soaking with something wet, then the effect on the audience is often exactly the same.
So my opinion is that there's no reason to be strict. Flour is covered under WAM, even though it's missing the Wet part, because it can create a huge Mess.
This is a great topic, which has been brought up before.
Personally, I prefer my wet and messy to be wet or messy, never dry. This means when sprinkles, flour, sand or feathers are added in a scene, I'm not terribly happy. For me, wam is about the tactile sensation of feeling sticky or slippery, so adding anything gritty or dry ruins that experience. (sprinkles or feathers would ruin it) I don't even like pie crusts, other than the graham ones that quickly 'melt' into the cream and become liquified.
As always, everyone has their own preferences, but to me, WAM must be wet or messy, never dry. Otherwise, all I can say is 'DAM' (dry and messy) LOL
I suppose it very much depends on a personal wet/dry preference but either way, I think we can all agree that a substance such as flour at least fills the messy part. Personally I like the mess of the flour but there are certain messy substances that don't feel good dry to me.

In regards to your anticipation thing-
I have a mirror pic of my girlfriend in a dress that's right next to a picture of her in the shower with it on later that day and sometimes going from dry dress to wet dress actually really goes get me doing.
Flour has a bit of a reputation for being challenging in cleanup.
So I see it added dry to wet (or dry then adding water - making it into glue) as an 'insult to injury' gesture. It's a great contrast effect too on an already very messy model. It's fun to rub into the model's hair too.

This. I think it is the fact that flour on top of wet mess turns it into a. Much more gloopy mess.
When flour has water added, it becomes a paste which looks so sticky.
Setting mess with flour, cocoa powder or ash really changes the feel and makes you a human statue. Then add more mess or just mix it in again and again. You can really build up layers that way. Feeling flour setting solid is a turn on for me. I reckon the wet/dry debate is a bit like the sweet or savoury one. If it works for you then great. I tend to post what I enjoy and there is often some dry powder in the mix.

Yes, I think that you have said it. The dress is really meant to be dry. The "dry" picture shows how the dress is always meant to be. Beautiful. When it is wet, then we Wetlook fans gain a unique perspective. The wet dress achieves a new life, enhancing your g/f's beauty.
Always enjoy. Respect and Value her for it. Thanks, Peter
