I watched most of it, and the references to the old comedy movies were fabulous!
The movie in the theatre was called "The Greatest Whipped Cream BATTLE OF THE CENTURY", and later on Laurel & Hardy look-alikes were in it! And towards the end, there was a pie truck, just like in "The Battle of the Century"!
And the Mack Sennet "Bathing Beauties" were beautiful and cute in their old-time swimsuits! It's one of the few pie fight movies where most of the people were beautiful women! And no matter how she got around the thrown pies, I just knew that the beautiful blonde who started the pie fight would get it in the end!
If people jumped in at 17:31, you missed one of the lovely ladies parking her butt in a pie (around 13 min, I think). Not a huge mess, but the cream was on the back of her dress!
Just plain funny, as well as the pie mess on the lovely ladies for "us"!
Very nice find! Really nice to see a tribute to the old-time slapstick that has good framing, editing, and timing of the hits (and pretty girls, as Norman pointed out!). And yes, it was funny enough to watch on its own merits. Thanks for sharing!
This is fantastic on so many levels. Great for those of us who are fans of silent film comedy, women pieing men, and seeing a bunch of lovely bathing beauties getting creamed.
