Been dyin' to ask this dumb question for the longest time now: what does "Conexao" mean? I assume it is a proper noun. Is it the name of some modeling company?
Conexao just means connection. The title translates to English as "Models Connection" I believe Portuguese uses subject-verb-object syntax to explain why the word order is reversed (plus it helps to keep the show's initials in the same order for all us non-Portuguese-speaking types who watch the show).

The show was created by a modeling agency called Mega Model. All the men and women are (supposedly) models. The best I can tell very few of them have any modeling career whatsoever. Essentially the show is the only modeling gig they have. I'm forced to conclude that Mega Model is a fiction and exists primarily as a front for the television program.
This show is socialism people! Plus Brazil is going through a rough patch right now. The president was impeached, they've got the Olympics coming and the Zika virus. When you support socialism and your economy collapses you end up with shows like this on TV!
