I needed some tips on using a collapsible pool to contain mess. My friend will be getting slimed (estimate 2 buckets about 3 gallons each) and a ton of pies.
I'm nto too worried about pie stuff getting everywhere, as longas we make a good faith effort to clean it up, but I am worried about slime. While even the smallest pools are enough to contain the few gallons of slime, I'm worried about what diameter pool to get. 31 inches seems pretty common, and seems like itnwould work with me syanding outside of it. But I'm worreid it might be too narrow?
Also, not sure what to have my frind sit on. Last time I used a bucket, lol
The pools we use are rectangular, 7' long by 4' wide and about 18" high. Cost about £21, you can find them on Amazon. You might want an electric pump to inflate it, makes it much faster and easier. For easiest possible cleanup, line it with plastic dust sheets - bin the sheets afterwards, pool should be clean and dry underneath.
For sitting on, an upturned plastic bin works well, a bit higher than a bucket and you can just wash it down afterwards.
I should have added that I'm looking for something not inflatable, butnmire fold up and down. I believe I have a good product, was just unsure of size needed.

7 foot seems kinda huge!
Don't think I've ever seen one of the non inflatable ones that was less than about 10' across (garden swimming pool basically), handy if they come smaller.
Our 7' x 4' one is big enough for two girls to bathe in together, so probably rather larger than what you're after, though never underestimate just how far splashed mess or spilled gunge will travel.
The thing to remember is that every splash of mess you don't catch is going to be an hour's extra cleanup. I'd go for at least the 4' pool, and line it with multiple layers of dustsheets. Mess travels. A lot.
In the pool, ease of cleanup. If the pool itself gets messy you then have to wash it which is a pain. Line it with a decent grade dust sheet and all you need to do afterwards is gather the corners and lift sheet and spilled mess into a trash bin, leaving pool pristine ready to put away.
In more genersl terms, if outdoors I guess you don't need to worry about walls etc, but if indoors then basically you want to set up something resembling one of Dexter's kill rooms, **and** line the pool.
