Stumbled upon this on Youtube earlier. An attractive female hostess got pied while talking about the upcoming Double Dare revival.
Since there are minors in the video (due to the use of clips from the original Double Dare), I'm not going to link to the video, so just search for "Our final Avengers: Infinity War predictions and Double Dare returns | Stream Economy #1" and it should be the top result. The pieing happens 4:47 in.

Fine but if they're going to put forth so little effort, I hope they don't expect us to go the extra mile and stalk their hostess on social media so relentlessly that she ends up going back on the air and denouncing wam altogether.

Dude, that's what we have RunninRebel for. I guarantee he's already sent 30 tweets and 45 private messages to this poor woman asking her to take 20 pies and 5 buckets of slime "for charity."
Great clip. She is very attractive and a great sport, willing to make herself look ridiculous for the laugh. She did the song n' dance routine earlier, and then punctuated the take with the pie gag, perfectly timed. If it were a real pie, I'd classify this as an instant classic. Still, a great clip!

Not THAT good . I never understood that thinking anyway. I understand not everyone has a ton of disposable income but part of having a fetish is having an itch to scratch (shut up, not THAT kind of itch lol). My itch can't be scratched with paper plates and spray cool whip. Better to throw $20-$30/month or so at the problem and save myself that disappointment I used to feel almost daily during my Nickelodeon days. Hell, just avoiding buying coffee frees that much up.

If only more folks felt like you!!
I do get the appeal of "mainstream" WAM though, even when it's poor. But that said, you have someone like Rogerio basically recreating a Brazilian pie game but with GOOD mess, and he can't get people to buy.... Meanwhile there's tons of posters on this board complaining that the ONE pie on CM last week was terrible, or how badly Domingo Legal screwed up their PoR game..... It's like the idea of paying for a good version of what you like isn't even considered!

Rich's, Rogerio's, and PieZone's videos are the best clothed (or mostly/semi-clothed) messy videos around...each is routinely way more 'satisfying' than anything on TV (with the rare exception, like of the first two years of Chegas Mais -- where Rogerio's videos are based on)....Rich's point about 'Free (low quality) > 5-10.00 (high quality) is valid enough...
However, I also think that 'over-saturation' (plus, a plethora of choices, nowadays) plays a BIG role...here
Not that I am advocating a producers' 'cartel' or anything...but if each of you (especially Rich) just backed off for a month or two (no new videos whatsoever)....and/or, put you videos up for sale ONLY FOR A LIMITED TIME (instead of a 'catalog' of older videos always being available)...I suspect there would be more sales....but this would require coordination between the producers of like/similar material...and I suspect that the three aforementioned producers would not go along with that (or be able to agree of amounts of new videos, timing of releases, etc.)...
So many folks (including many amateurs) have gotten into the wam game in the past decade or so, that we now have an "Embarrassment of Riches" (not the producer kind of 'Rich's')....the current state of wam (apart from the general trend of 'free porn') is the result of everyone doing their own thing (e.g., pursuing their own wam production agenda) regardless of what others are doing (e.g., releasing only one or two videos a year) that has led to the current state of things....
Perhaps this is inevitable in an erotica niche that is driven by personal fetishism....Just as two obvious examples: Ken (mostly in the past) and Rich (on-going) have produced hundreds of videos (formulaic for the most part, with occasional exceptions, mostly by Rich)...no doubt driven by their personal fetishistic desires and motivations...the result of this (coupled with the 'free everything' trend) is why we are where we are now....both of these two producers are the 'victims' of their own success (and new-comers are the victims of their success, etc.)...
Plus, I'm sure that many producers here make part of even most of their income from wam sales....that's a cash-flow crisis just waiting to happen in a field quickly becoming over-saturated (due to tcompeting producers' multiplicitous material).
I saw this coming (more or less) years ago (2007)....as Rich an Ken had entered the scene and begun to dominate it (in terms of volume of material, doing clothed wam)....I simply could not (and would not) compete on the basis of volume (which required formula-rizing content to a large degree, with small variations)....and so, I got out. By limiting my output volume ((keeping each video special) and promoting it often (even to the point of annoying Rich )....I made sure that my in-flow (cash) was always greater (much greater) that my out-flow...and, be it unintentional, left room for others to 'play' (and even make some decent coin)....
So, lesson is: if you come to dominate a market with sheer volume of material (and yes, at a decent production quality level and with attractive models)...and which motivates others to try their hand at the game (late entries, though they be)...don't be surprised when the 'game' ends (or tapers off dramatically).
Valid points. My experience is somewhat different, but I'm sure it varies based on producer. And also things are vastly different compared to 2007.
1) I was doing sustained business (no huge jumps, but no drop-offs) for basically this whole decade until about a year or so. No idea what prompted this change, but I know other producers were complaining about declining sales long before that, and many big-timers had already quit by then. (WAMTEC & Lenny among others) 2) Since that point, I've actually needed to release MORE material to keep sales the same.... ironically. Some of it is the glut of material and you're constantly competing for eyeballs. Some is just the quick turnover with clips now. I actually benefit a lot from catalog sales (and that's not counting streaming, which generates better income with a bigger catalog). I find that newer clips sell worse, but anytime I "announce" something I'll see more catalog sales.... Basically, every new announcement sends more people to my site and stores.... And while most are there to buy the "new thing," many find something better/cheaper they like instead. But it's all dependent on constant traffic, and.... 3) When I had to go on hiatus this year for a couple weeks, I could tell the difference. Week #1 was close-to-normal sales... Week #2 of radio silence? The bottom dropped out. Now, WJ's theory *could* work in the long run..... But in the short run, limiting releases and posts really hurts my bottom line. 4) Ken is a great example because he's following your approach now. Very infrequent releases, long stretches of no activity, and limited availability of back catalog (based on complaints from posters wanting to buy older clips that are gone from his stores). It would be interesting to see if his new plan has generated better sales per release. I honestly don't know... I suspect his overall monthly sales are way down tho. 5) Last part of this long post: The producers with DEEP catalogs who are utilizing them fully (paid site, streaming site, download store) and releasing new content weekly.... like MessyGirl and the Moonins.... seem to be doing very well. The producers from a couple years ago with smaller, limited catalogs.... like WAMAmerica.... seem to have mostly disappeared. That said, PieZone is a big hit with a small (for now) catalog, so there's always exceptions.
Rich: good self-analysis (business-wise)! I agree it would be instructive to see if Ken's approach has improved his bottom line, or not.
Of all your points, I think this point is the most salient:
2) Since that point, I've actually needed to release MORE material to keep sales the same.... ironically. Some of it is the glut of material and you're constantly competing for eyeballs. Some is just the quick turnover with clips now. I actually benefit a lot from catalog sales (and that's not counting streaming, which generates better income with a bigger catalog). ...which actually involves several factors. (like mobile device streaming -- which I never set up while making videos for downloads, but which I have noticed consistently on my YT 'eyecandy' channel)...I would be curious too to see where Most Wam's sales come from (domestic or foreign) and, the data comparison between them and Messy Girl, as one features nudity, the other is all clothed wam...
Anyways, my theory may be untenable...it seems that there may be no clear answer to what sells best and when (and why)...the current economics theory is that we humans are 'irrational maximizers'...which may have some explanatory power here and serve as a general (cautionary) rule (for producers).
Pie zone's success may have to do mostly with novelty. We'll see how long he stays in the game!
