The three pies for the girls you see in that promo photo are probably the only three pies in the entire show.
Although, the guys have lost and got the pie punishment for the last 3 or 4 weeks. So technically by the law of averages, it should be the girls turn this week. Don't hold your breath though.

A girl lost fairly recently (but it might've been 3 weeks ago, I've stopped keeping up).... And in contrast to the total destruction of a guy's captain like Ugly Bieber, she got.... Two half-assed pies that combined covered MAYBE one side of her face.
It's not just that they've reduced the pies by 90%. It's also the mandate that no one's allowed to do truly epic hits anymore. (And also the formula might've changed, so it's less "gooey" and harder to stick.) Either way, it's like a unicorn sighting when a quality pie hit surfaces now.
CM often experiments with new games for time frames lasting several weeks. However, they've stayed with the balloons for an extended length of time. The transition away from the pies is clearly meant to be permanent. The only thing that will change this course is if half their viewers disappear. Unfortunately I think the balloons are more watchable for general audiences. Many (non-WAM interested) viewers probably perceive the pies as cruel. Additionally, the randomness of the content of the balloons may appeal to larger audiences than pie after pie after pie.
Unless the producers suffer collective memory loss and believe it's March 2016 we're screwed.

Girls getting huge, gooey pies on a weekly basis. What I'd do to see CM back in its former glory...
Technically, things were nearly this bad a year ago... CM didn't exactly "change their format" (it was still a pie game) but they rigged the game to ensure that the women got most questions right, and got mostly balloons when they missed. The "comic relief" of the twins, CurlyFuck, and D'Lucca got most of the pies. So in that respect, it was probably MORE annoying then (lots of pies, but only for the guys) as opposed to now (no pies for anyone, really).
I know this because I have weeks from July/August 2015 that are 1-2 hits total. One clip basically combines 3 weeks because they were all so bad.
BUT the badness only lasted a couple months. The producers changed it up (again) and increased the length of the pie round and kinda forced the women to take their fair share (less than the guys, but more than 1-2 per week). I don't see that happening this time, though. They tend to ignore the comments on their IG complaining about the lack of pies... or they just delete them... So clearly they're pretending this is what the public wants. Who knows. Maybe it is.
I suppose a bunch of us could flood their feed asking for the return of Agora Torta, but I doubt it would make any difference at this point. Still waiting for someone/anyone from Brazil to step up with ONE halfway decent new pie show.
My take FWIW...three girls got pied...the first one really cute and wearing a hot dress. Unfortunately the pie was exactly the way Rich described the way it is going...weak pie, poor coverage, basically worhtless. Same with the second girl. The third girl though, the least attractive of the three for me (natch) got it pretty good. Actually excellent by the recent standard. The way I look at it, as long as there is a table of pies and hot girls in sexy outfits, there is hope. But glad I did not watch it in real time.
Ugh. I don't want to write yet another book on this stupid show, but here's the way it breaks down (for me):
--The complaining during the "golden run" of CM was somewhat born out of frustration... because back then, the pies WERE plentiful, the hits WERE good, and so if a hottie missed one (or 3) questions, she was gonna get well covered. So when the show was obviously rigged (girls like Barb going 5 weeks without missing a question, or whining until they got balloons instead of pie), it was REALLY frustrating. Because it was like we were getting denied what would've (probably) been an amazing hit. --Some of the other complaining boiled down to what is happening now... All these shows have a finite window before they're cancelled, or change the format to something worthless. During the pie-friendly months, you WANTED the show to take advantage of that... because you knew it couldn't last forever. When they cut the game short or wasted time on the twins' "comedy" or Curly getting pied 30 times by his own team, those were opportunities we missed. --So yeah, it was very good in those months, and we KNEW that. But almost every week had the potential to be even better. The nature of the show, I guess.
--Now the irony is I don't have ANY frustration for the show anymore. Because there's basically zero potential. It's devolved into the realm of all these other Brazilian shows where you go, "Oh yeah, that's still on." EEG... Combate... etc. Once in a blue moon you catch a decent pieing and go, "Eh, that was pretty good." But it's not appointment television. It's not worth keeping up with. The hits themselves, and the frequency of them, don't justify spending any time tracking them. And sadly, CM has fallen into that category now. Are there still gonna be good hits occasionally? Sure. But is it worth it to keep caring? For me... Not really.
I think SStuff summarized it quite nicely. Any complaining that was done previously was more or less like when you complain about your favorite sports team messing up a play. There's no point in complaining any more though because there's essentially no "team" left to complain about.
