If your definition of "pies return in a big way" means Ugly Bieber AND Curly BOTH get destroyed with pies at the end of this episode... Then sure!!!
I literally haven't seen anything beyond the 15-second clip on the IG page, but I'm just gonna go ahead and assume this was, officially, The Worst Episode Of CM In The History Of Chega Mais, Conexao Models, and Whatever The Hell They Call It Next Week.
I literally didn't see a female with a speck of mess on her. Multiple guys (including Token) destroyed even before the twin towers of shittiness got wrecked simultaneously. (And yes, Curly got destroyed by his own male teammates. Did you REALLY have to ask??)
Throw the dirt on the coffin. This show is dead, buried, and starting to smell.
Just from only watching the last 30 seconds of last week and that instagram clip this week. I'm pretty sure the way the show works now is both captains are male. So the women stay clean.
I know nothing about ratings for this show, but youtube views have definitely declined from around 3,000 to 1200.
Nah, it just SEEMS like both captains are male when they keep pieing the guy... and then a different guy for the hell of it.
But look close. There's definitely a random girl standing on the guy's side to (possibly, but come on, not really) get pied by them. Looks like Julia 1.0 but not exactly. (Sorry, I've stopped caring about the new girls now that they all stay clean.)
I'll be honest. If the guys had "won" I still see them pieing the shit out of Curly anyway. Because the one constant in this show is that NOBODY LIKES CURLY.
This IG account might be a good reason the pies are gone. So many CM pies are on there, and the recipient gets tagged 10 times in each post. Not creepy at all.

You mean the guy who also steals my pics and tags my models without their permission or consent? Yeah, he can singlehandedly ruin a lot of good things.
CM has peaked. It's been building up to this for a while, but I don't think we've ever seen a show with no female pies.
The annoying thing about this show is I *still* check on it weekly. I've never watched it live or a full episode, but I check their insta and show highlights etc.
The fear is I might miss something good. This week there *might* be an incredible pie for a female. This week might *finally* be the week the hostess gets it. Blink and you could miss it. But no. Lately it's just sunk to new depths. I'll still check on it next week, though
Well, it's fairly easy to check on their IG at least. But yes, just to illustrate the depths that they've fallen to, I no longer bother to check the clips on the RedeTV site or the YT channel a few days later. Because I know there's nothing there. It's just more frustration.
Full disclosure: I had the Domingo Legal channel saved and periodically I would check it, on the off chance they corrected their colossal blunder and brought back PoR. Still nothing. Funny how all the Brazilian shows pretty much shut down their pie games completely... There was another low-rent one (Domingo para Todos?) that did the same thing last year.
A quick check of the comments on the CM IG channel shows plenty of people are still annoyed with the lack of pies. Of course the channel is trying to spin it as a positive that the "new games" are so "fun" and "exciting" but this is a show that changes formats like underwear. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they reverse course, but right now my annoyance with the entire show (and their cast) is so high I'm just inclined to forget it completely.
Still waiting for this magical new pie-centric Brazilian show to rise from the ashes of all these recent flameouts...
At least you had a really good weekly pie show for over a year before they fucked it up. I don't anticipate getting a mud wrestling version of that any time soon.
Has there been anything like "mainstream" mud wrestling since that brief fad in the late 70's/early 80's?
I feel like there were a couple South American shows where the girls "wrestled" in a pit of something mud-esque... Like thin clay or something. This would've been the 90s I guess. Lots of clips on WAMTEC tapes. EEG did a couple "messy wrestling" games too but nothing consistent.

Not really. Lots of near misses but nothing steady like the various pie & slime game shows that have come and gone. Elimidate started doing messy wrestling once in a while shortly before it bit the dust, and of course Springer does it occasionally, if you like toothless and/or morbidly obese messy wrestlers. WWE has coughed up half a dozen good matches in 20 years. Survivor did some decent mud games. But I can't think of anything that actually delivered a good weekly fix.
My dream has been that the '80s nostalgia wave would deliver the mother lode -- something like an HBO drama or a Netflix comedy set inside an '80s mud wrestling club. But now we're sliding into '90s nostalgia with nothing in sight.
EDIT: Actually there were two or three European game shows in the late 90s or early 00s that had regular mud wrestling games. Fort Boyard in France (and some other French-speaking countries) was the best (although when they revived it a couple of years ago, it sucked).
Anybody know if the ratings have gone down since the format change? Just curious.
I just checked out their IG and read the comments. Apparently a woman was complaining about Julia avoiding a pie and getting special treatment lol.
I still don't think the game is coming. Even if it does, it will be a watered down version. I've never seen a Latin or South American variety show ever go back to a pie/mess game once they've changed the format. It would be a first.
