This article suggests that RedeTV! may pick up (soccer?) programming jettisoned by another network. The new programming would most likely be broadcast on Sunday.
It looks like Rede enters into contracts with third party entities who provide programming (such as Atroveran Mega Model). In order to be able to show the futebol, they'd need to get out of all of those contracts or allow them to lapse.
I imagine this would probably either result in a nice settlement with Atroveran, moving CM to another time slot, or waiting until next March for the contract to run out.
As I've mentioned before, even the current (weak) version of CM is still pretty decent, and basically the ONLY regular mainstream WAM anywhere in the world right now. Its only competitor, honestly, is the PoR segment from DL.
The fact that BOTH of them have the potential to disappear (permanently, or temporarily) within the next couple weeks pretty much means the end of regular mainstream WAM, period. At least for the forseeable future. Let's hope that doesn't happen......
From what I understand, Globo Channel paid dearly to show football games and want to share the cost with some other station that is interested in it. But of course if the Conecao Models is giving good audience, they can change the day or the schedule for the time being no information was given about it. It would be horrible to lose the Passa ou repassa and Conecao Models simultaneously.
The commenter on social media who was first to provide a 100% accurate call on the end of Chega Mais (claiming that Curly/Kotter was her source) wrote today that the idiot twins and Dani have left Conexao Models.
I have absolutely no idea if what she wrote is true.
However, if her information is accurate the show may already be cancelled or moved to an even worse time slot.
I wonder how Conexao Models would remedy their modeling contest when they've promised 300,000 Reals in prizes if they're cancelled.
There's no real reason to have an alarmist attitude while running on pretty much no solid information. If Rede actually gets the rights to the broadcast, then there's reason for concern. Until then, there's nothing we can do which will change anything.
Why are we being alarmist about this? The only concrete news I've heard is that THE TWINS HAVE LEFT THE SHOW.
I mean, sure, it COULD get cancelled, or relocated, or whatever. That's speculative. But every week without the twins is infinitely better than it would've been otherwise.
As for DL, there were plenty of years that a PoR game was aired without the participation of Celoso, or Domingo Legal. (MegaMatch for instance.) It's not entirely implausible for PoR to wind up on a different show, or network, with or without the current host. (Who only started this current version 3 years ago, although he hosted earlier versions for years.)
