Hey y'all! I was planning my next scene and I was curious about using clay as a medium. I'm no stranger to mud, but my adventures were usually with topsoil which in my case made me very...very ill for a long time (I'm better now). I had the thought to use a dry mix clay -- when I reached out to the clay manufacturer they highly recommended against using this as it might be unsafe for skin contact and not safe for accidental consumption. On the spec sheet the only real hazards I saw were for inhalation, which obviously I would take precautions for while mixing (respirator, goggles, and a mister over the mixing site). Of course, the possibility that some (or a lot) might enter the mouth is not 0%.
Obviously our fetish comes with some material boundaries in cost; the last time I bought marshmallow fluff in bulk (12 17lb buckets) shipping was over two hundred dollars and required a truck with a liftgate, so I wanted to find a balance of preferred material feel without breaking the bank.
Curious on your thoughts, experiences, and happy to take suggestions for other mats. Cheers!
Yup, I saw this and it sort of spurred my looking into alternatives. I don't think I would bother with mouth play with anything I choose but as we know, it's nearly unavoidable. I just want something safe enough that gives the clay feel while giving me the confidence that I'm not in harm during (or after) a session.
Cheers, Baba! I'm looking at a ceramics shop that sells clay from different brands and they're local. I don't know if they sell dry mixes but at least i won't have to pay shipping if they do; I'll use my Kei truck to bring it home Couldn't hurt to get a bag and experiment, right?

You could try (my favourite!) modelling clay (e.g. https://www.potclays.co.uk/modelling-clay) [Not sure where you're based but this is UK supplier - fine for me!] I've never had any problems with it but it sounds as though you might be unusually susceptible to problems, based on what you said (unless you were just unlucky to get contaminated mud into an orifice (not just mouth!) as per the other thread to which you've been pointed).
A 12.5Kg sack of modelling clay will probably do you 5 or 6 sessions and, if you're careful, each session can be repeated 2 or 3 times in quick succession if you scoop it all back into the bucket and use it again within a few days. (If you've never had sloppy smooth-whipped modelling clay poured into your tights, you haven't lived! ) You might be able to get a sack of it at a local arts supply shop, which is where I used to get mine.
I find it's best to soak your clothes with water just before you start, to stop them sucking all the moisture out of the clay.
You can also paint it on to your clothes with a big paint-brush - Laurel & Hardy style once you've whipped it to sloppy/very thick emulsion paint consistency.
I find it's best to wear 3-4 pairs of tights (pantyhose) and fill up between the layers too. (A plastic jug to scoop it out of the bucket and drop it in is best.) The feeling as they all slide around over each other as you move about is amazing, as are the squelching sounds in there!
Incredibly easy to clean up - just rinses straight off skin and out of clothes. Then a quick wash cycle or two in the machine returns them to completely normal.
Make sure you don't block your drains!! Only let it down if it's been diluted to thin and milky stage. Keep plenty of water flowing during and long after putting any down the drain.
Sounds like the clay shop is just covering all its bases against telling you something is unsafe even though it is safe because even though it is safe, that doesn't stop you from suing them if they said it was safe and you get a skin rash or some such...
Bulk clay powder is a harzard is you breathe the dust while mixing it. And a regular cloth mask won't keep it out of your airway. However, in small quantities you can workaround this without an expensive respirator, just mix it outdoors, where a face mask, stand up wind, and cover it with water first. If you smell clay dust, you're breathing clay dust so increase the water and distance from the bucket...
It is possible that extensive contact with clay powder might irritate the skin on some people. I've used clay powder many times as a massage lubricant with no ill effect...
Getting clay in your mouth, and elsewhere for that matter, in small quantities is unlikely to cause you any problems, but remember, somewhere on this planet there is somebody it would bother. Food grade kaolin clay used to be the primary ingredient in Kaopectate and I sure went through my share of that when I was young with no ill effect!...
Thinking about releasing the video these stills came from but self-conscious about my body I'm pretty far along in my transition but I feel uncomfortable sharing at the moment. I guess I don't feel fem enough quite yet.
I did buy 100 more lbs of dry mix though. I'm excited to have another session. Should I film it?
