We've probably had a spirited debate on the merits/demerits of fake blood WAM, so I made sure it's in the subject line so anyone can avoid it. For those into it, here's a sketch from last nights SNL.
Well, in my opinion that's great. You may like "blood wam" or not, but It's Charlize involved in a messy-humiliating situation. And it's not horror gore style, it's comedy. So this scene it's not different to gettin slimed at the KCA (just a different colour). So I think it's nice, and it's also great she was up to do it.

Interesting how they seemed to blow the cues at the end -- if they hadn't I bet the "second whale" would've gotten her even messier.
Also I had a sort-of offer to attend the broadcast and blew it off .... Whoops!
Charlize is in a new comedy-western with whats his nut who created Family Guy(his name escapes me at the moment), and she looks pretty good.
Pinhead nailed it. It's not like they are selling the "blood" as anything but a comedy gunging and its CHARLIZE THERON getting messy!!! An Oscar-winning actress doing a great job on the humiliated reaction and who hasn't wanted to see a babe of her character get it? I pie would have been better for me, but this was GREAT, IMO

That was kind of a running joke throughout this entire SNL episode: that Charlize Theron would play as unsexy as possible in all the skits. And she did not disappoint disappointing!

...the cool part of the sketch was that they decided to do the same gag twice ("let's move to the other beached whale filling up with methane gas") and although the gunging wasn't quite as on-target and copious as the first, it was still a worthy try (and funny; the random chunks of bloody whale blubber adding a dash of grotesque humor))...and, even more impressive...after the commerical break, we return to find Ms. Theron still mess-covered (in costume) to introduce the Black Keys again...
What a great sport and talent!
One can only hope that a talent of this calibre will set a benchmark for messiness on SNL that all future female guest hosts will feel compelled to imitate, or surpass!

Yes. It was so obvious what was going to happen, that it was hilarious!

Now that's cool!
