Wam Story Archive, now Wam Library, collected wet and messy stories from all over the internet. But we rarely had explicit permission to repost those stories, as seen in the debate when the Wam Library started up.

But now it's possible that the Wam Library will end soon, and we considered that it would be a good idea to try to build a new archive, with authors' permission to keep those stories online.

That is why I'm asking all of you who ever published a wet and messy story, if you want your stories to be preserved for everyone to enjoy even in the future where you might no longer be reachable, to license your stories under a license that permits those stories to be shared, such as CC-BY-4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).

This license, Creative Commons Attribution, means that you allow your stories to be redistributed anywhere as long as they remain attributed to you. It allows sites such as archives to host your stories and keep them on the internet.

Thank you all who are contributing your stories to the community this way. I'm especially happy when someone like gness7, whose stories are not currently available online, expresses consent because now we can put them back up for everyone to enjoy.

I realize we won't be able to reach everyone, but the more people consent, the more stories we can preserve.

Thanks for all your work for the community and your amazing stories! I don't know if any of my Wam Story Archive stories survived, but you're welcome to republish those and any of my WamLibrary stories.

I'm not listed in the original post but my stories are out there and I think they're up on the WAM Library so

The WAM library stopped working 3 days ago.

This makes it even more important that we get as many authors as possible to license their stories.

If you had a story on the WAM library or the Wam Story Archive or anywhere except the UMD Stories section, and if you don't mind having them available for free on the internet, please license them by replying to this thread.

The CC-BY-40 license simply means that you allow your stories to be published on the internet by anyone. This will allow me to publish them to a new story archive.

The CC-BY-NC-40 license is the same except that it doesn't allow commercial use. This is also okay for the archive, but it would prevent them from being posted without your consent to the UMD Stories section, for example, or published in a for-profit book.

I just tried to go to the wam library and received error messages on both safari and firefox. Is anyone else having issues there?
