JC and Lisa play the snooty customers at an outdoor pie cafe, and they are served by two very clumsy waitresses played by Corrine and Shawna. The Clumsy Waitress create mayhem with the pies and the two customers retaliate by smothering the waitresses in pies too.
MK note: This was shot on a very windy beachfront property in 1997 in the Florida Keys where the wind was causing problems and the pies were melting in the heat as well. That brings back memories!!!! Shot that on pebbles in the Keys. I remember raiding all the supermarkets for crusts and cool whip. Boy have the years flown by
Yeah...I remember that it was very hard to make the pies down in the Florida Keys, cos we did not have access to our favorite Publix Bakery Manager, George, who used to make all those great pies for us when we did the shoots at my ranch in Jupiter. But when we were down in the Keys we had to improvise and use those awful pie crusts that were like a thin biscuit wafer that you could get in the local supermarkets, but those pie crusts were useless unless you baked them, cos if you used them unbaked they would just disintegrate in the hands of the girls, and so we had to bake them, and then one time you had cooked them too long in the house oven, and then they became too hard and became dangerous to throw at the girls cos they could cause injuries.....which reminds me....
....I still have behind the scenes footage of you throwing the pies at Melanie at my place in 1995, when she was doing the scene as the pie boomerang thrower, and you were standing on a ladder out of camera view and throw the pies at her from the air. And you got carried away and nailed her way too hard, so as soon as we said "cut" Melanie was not happy cos you whacked her in the face real hard, so then she chased you all over my garden to tackle you and get her own back on you and then we had an impromptu Melanie vs Lenny wrestling match. I shot some extra footage of her chasing you all over my garden....that was so funny.
That incident reminds me of what Blake Edwards did to Natalie Wood on the set of "The Great Race"...i.e. she was being very difficult on the set and Blake Edwards had had enough of her antics and took great pleasure at throwing the pies at Natalie personally.
Yeah that was my first time throwing pies at someone!!! Come along way. I often wonder what happened to some of our models. I know some are no longer with us but I would say a majority have family and kids even my favorite model of all time Lana Cox has a 6 year old now
