Question, what causes a thread to be buried? Is it the user that does that or some type of admin response? I have seen a few lately on threads that weren't bad, just curious.
MM's reply on the thread below pretty much explains it. That particular one isn't buried anymore, and he says he's going to stop making complaints visible and go back to just flags that he and the admins receive.
It does make sense because, as MM says, it seems more trouble than it's worth. And for what it's worth I was also puzzled, along with other posters on that thread, over what was so controversial about it!
Threads get buried by hitting a certain threshold of reports. I'm not entirely sure how he's exactly going to change it, but making them pubic has seemed to make things worse rather than better.
After all, sometimes people report things for reasons that aren't "bad" maybe something is tagged wrong, it's a dupe post etc. These things aren't necessarily "buriable" offenses, sometimes something just needs to be fixed, or someone wants to make Messmaster aware of something.
