Revisited this epic location in the southeast and was as surprised as usual to find it replenished with glorious creamy mud. Here's a few snaps on location. Action cam planned for next outing. I'm planning on revisiting in a fortnight, anyone game drop me a PM
Congratulations on this magical and wonderful place. I found one of these last year and it's only 10 km from my home.
I can go there by bike. It is located in a gravel works. They have these mud lakes to recycle the water they need to clean up the gravel.
The mud is really fantastic and very clean. Means that there is nothing organic in it that could cause a smelling odor.
Fortunately, around the mud there is always plenty of clear water where it is possible to get almost completely clean.
It's actually like winning a lottery. I was there on Sunday, the mud was warm and so was the air. Even the myriad of moscuitos didn't bother about me after being covered in thick, creamy mud. It was awesome.
I don't understand the warnings. I've tried hard, but it's impossible to go under the surface of the mud with your whole body. The mud is just too heavy and always lifts the lighter body.

Thanks
Looks like you've found your own fantastic retreat and so close to home too!
As far as the washing process goes of the gravel works I've visited, they sterilize the runoffs that tail of into the silt lagoons. So very little plant life grows, I'm still be cautious and don't consume the muck.
There is some sediment that you may find that is just sand. If its a sand and gravel quarry and there are lagoons, there is always a chance that segment pools are present. This is predominantly sand based and very very easy to get stuck. But You'll know if you step on it as its not creamy nor is it going to cling to skin/cloths like mud does.
