Well, that was quite titillating....the fade-cut from fully clothed to scantily clad and pie-covered could qualify as "frustrating" ...the ladies seemed to have recently showered (the interview taking place post -performance) and discuss how the scene takes place in the lead actor's head (imagination)....the lead male actor is recognizable...forgetting his name, but he's been in quite a few TV shows (e.g., Criminal Intent)...one should be able to track down this production and perhaps find more footage...
Been waiting to find a video of that show (since I heard they are doing it) for 2-3 years, glad some action is happening there, sad we did get to see it, hope there will be a complete video one day.
This show and One Man, Two Guvnors are awesome, but theater recordings are rarely released.
Thanks for that "new" first photo...the retro silky knickers and lingerie adds quite a bit to the scene...not to ignore the three pie body hit -- the director knows his erotic slapstick for sure -- one rarely sees such a combo hit (frontal, crotch, breasts, face); the closest being in Japanese wam or perhaps a random custom wam vid...wonder how this actress felt about doing such a scene 7-8 times a week...?
Note that in the interview she states that they "tried many a different pie substance"...that must have been a fun rehearsal...
Apart from this scene, the play is a Tom Stoppard play...always witty/funny and intellectually stimulating...but not a lot of action...it seems the current crop of directors picked up on this scene as an opportunity to camp it up and add some eroticized comic action to an otherwise word/dialogue heavy play (note: the slapstick tit for tat bit is NOT in the original script, just the dialogue)...now, it is standard content whenever the play is staged.
