I'm seeking recommendations on the best way to get out-of-country video online? There are a handful of game shows I'd like to watch which have recently been blocked by recently-implemented geographical descriptions.
Rather than buy a plane ticket and take my laptop, I'm curious if anyone has recommended sites which play well with video. (I've been able to access the pages several times, but the video never plays.)
Everyone has their own preference, just make sure the the one you choose has servers in the countries you're interested in. There's other factors including what they do with your data/don't do but tbh it's not that important if watching geoblocked videos is all you're concerned with.
Of the ones I've used, PIA and ExpressVPN (more expensive but w/ a wider selection of countries) are the ones I prefer, but there are loads out there. There are also free ones but those seem to come with some caveats, like possible security holes. 99% of the 10s of paid for services have a trial option anyway.
1. Get on Plane 2. Go to go country with video 3. Watch video 4. Get back on plane 5. Realize you spent thousands of dollars needlessly.
The story of my life...... Before the internet existed I used to waste thousands of dollars every year, traveling to see wam events around the world, not to mention belonging to 30 different video rental clubs in the 1980's and renting upwards of 150 vhs tapes per month to scan for wam scenes. My wife was quite happy when I started to hire my own wam models in the 1990's....because I stayed home instead of traveling and was spending less money on hiring models that the money I used to waste every year traveling and renting vhs tapes.
