What substance do you think makes the best pies for rubbing into someone's face? Are you a custard guy? Do you prefer shaving foam? Does whipped cream make your pies the best? Is marshmallow fluff the perfect pie ingredient ? Or do you prefer something else ? If so, what is it? Tell us in the comments.
Let's see what we all think is the best pie ingredient
MY vote goes to shaving foam. It's easy to clean, gives great coverage, it doesn't stink after a while and it's quite versatile in that you can mix it with other ingredients to make different pie types. eg. mix it with food colour or poster paint for coloured pies or mix it with custard for a slightly sloppier pie
Kool Whip is my base ingredient of choice, since it is cheaper than the canned stuff and IMO better for making pies as long as you thaw it in the refrigerator first.
Sometimes I do just Kool Whip for a simple pie experience, but being a bigger fan of slime than pies, my personal favorite is to load the pie up with pudding and heap generous amounts of Kool Whip on top. Pudding is nice and gooey and functions well as slime all by itself, and I love the dual sensation of a pie made with both. The way the pudding oozes afterward looks and feels amazing, particularly when backed with a crust so the broken chunks kind of ooze down with the pudding they are attached to. Mixing and matching these with plain Kool Ship pies works really well too, but there is nothing like a pie sandwich with the pudding type; guaranteed to leave nothing but a gooey blob when you use these for it.
Adding to the "slime pie" aspect, I find it is also a lot of fun to color the pudding and make it feel even more authentic. Usually I will do green, but doing a mixture of colors is fun as well. I've colored the Kool Whip (both with and without pudding) to great success as well, but when pudding is involved I find I prefer to color just the pudding to really sell the slime pie feel and differentiate the cream from the pudding while wearing it.
