I am a pretty lucky person, I get to travel quite a bit and want to go find really good mud somewhere in the US.

I live in South Florida and there isnt much here and when I lived in the midwest it was fairly easy to find. Im just wondering if there are any good gems worth traveling to? Ive used the public mud map and found some nice spots on there but I was more looking for first hand accounts!

There are settling ponds full of clay just north of you in the Fort Meade, Florida area that are a byproduct of the phosphate mines in that area.

There are definitely settling ponds with large amounts of mud in them, I first became aware of them when one broke and mad the national news some time ago. I've seen them on Google satellite view and once tried to find them while visiting Florida but ran out of time.

There are so many on google maps, that its a bit overwhelming, any tips on finding something promising on maps to check out? I found one or two but not sure accessibility or quality til I get there of course.

I have been lucky to just create our own mud/clay spa that afforded us to enjoy it at our pleasure.
