Something that used to drive me up the wall with these kinds of references in books - is that they tend to be issued 'in passing' and used to leave me feeling short changed and wanting to know more.

Would have loved to have been a gunge tank tester. Guess it would have been the runners or work experience students that may have been lucky to:give it test runs.

If you look at the BBC 100 site, you will find a big page about NHP and in that page is an embedded video - a 1 hour doc about NHP. Contains a lot of behind the scenes footage and interviews about the gunge - including from those who produced it, those who got gunged and even the lady who would book guests for the gunge tank. You must check this out right away mate!!

Think I've found the page you refer to but did see the women who booked guests in gir the gunge tank, that would have been awesome, always wondered about this.
