I have just added a video to my profile. It shows how you can make gallons of great slime for about ten bucks. It only uses one ingredient available from the grocery store, plus water. it's also super-easy to clean up, as it quickly dissolves in water. The only drawback is the prep time, which requires heating it up while stirring constantly.
Just go to my profile and you'll see that I have 1 video. That's the one.
RECIPE:
3 cups cold water (you can add liquid tempura paint to color it if you prefer) 1/4 cup Arrowroot flour, also known as Arrowroot powder. (same thing)
1. Take an appropriate-sized pot or pan and put in the cold water.
2. Stir the arrowroot powder into the water, mixing it well. It's pretty easy to break up the lumps that will probably form.
2. Put the heat on and gently but constantly stir. If you have a flat-bottomed wooden spoon, you can keep scraping the bottom of the pot as it heats, to prevent a thick layer from forming on the bottom.
3. When it reaches about 180F, it will thicken. If you're using water with no coloring, you'll also see the white color will turn transparent at this point in time. Turn off the heat but keep it on the burner for another minute and keep stirring.
4. Remove from heat. Have the sink ready with cold water in it, and carefully put the pan in the sink, being careful not to get water in the pan. Stir so that the coldness of the water will transfer to the pot, and this will speed up the cooling process, and also prevent a skin from forming over the slime in the pot.
5. Once cool, transfer to a bucket or whatever you choose. There are no preservatives, so you'll need to use it within a few days tops.
ADVANTAGES:
1. It's 100% natural, as opposed to sex lubes or other slimes which are plastic-based.
2. It's got a really nice texture, very slimy, but also thick, stringy, stretchy, gooey, and all the good aspects of a nice slime.
3. You can 'adjust' the formula by using less or more water for a runnier lube texture or a thicker gunge texture.
4. You can cheaply color this any shade you like, or just use it clear.
5. Clean-up is simple. It rinses off easily, whether it's in hair, on skin, clothing, etc. The only issue might be the tempura color which could stain some fabrics.
6. Become a mad scientist. Instead of 3 cups of water, perhaps use 2 cups of water and one of pre-made oatmeal, or pancake syrup, or any other substance that can be heated up safely. 1 cup of chocolate sauce with 2 of water would give you chocolate slime which would be safe to eat or play in. Go crazy and experiment! If you discover something cool, please let us know!
