Lately I've been experimenting with designing a spring-loaded "surprise box" style prop and testing different mechanisms (hinges, springs, release levers, sliding platforms, etc.)

Curious if anyone here has built similar contraptions/mechanical props before.

Especially anything involving:

- Spring release
- guided rails
- launch/pop-up mechanisms
-practical gag devices

Would love to hear what worked well mechanically and what ended up being harder than expected.
