On one hand, I suspect the first person perspective is the holy grail for a lot of wammers. I see a lot of unconventional camera placements -- from behind a model, in profile, atop a gunge tank -- but never on their person. Just the idea of watching a video and seeing a pie coming straight toward the screen makes me giddy.
On the other, you could quite literally destroy a camera this way. Also, it may make a model look ridiculous and detract from the scene overall to see a model's face and a camera attached to it. Strapping it to someone's forehead makes it seem, I dunno, so GoPro-ish and tacky.
It might be worth a try, but as for myself I prefer seeing the model get creamed from the perspective of the wammer and seeing the gunge cover the model.
GoPro's are great for this, only comment I'd make is it might be a pain keeping the lens clean on the outside. They can mist up on the inside as well so you might need an anti fog insert. We used them on our Thai Wetlook films a lot and the anti fog does help. We did have a few comments that the POV view was a bit too much with the moving around so you might want a 2nd camera on a tripod for a more stable shot to edit in. I do have a spare Gopro 3 Black we are selling if anybody is interested.
It sounds like a nice idea but I think most folk prefer to see messy scenes where the target is in full view so that the can see the coverage of the wam substances. Plus, I would worry about the camera getting damaged if it was attached to the wam target and getting covered in various substances. But it would definitely be something experimental to try in a wam session.
I just don't see how you could do this without immediately covering the camera lens with mess. I mean, the idea of a mud wrestling match with some POV shots is cool, but how would you keep the camera lens from being obscured? Also if the models are nude or even just skimpily dressed the camera would be pretty conspicuous.

Yeah I don't see this as practical. You wouldn't see much of the model who is wearing the camera and once it gets messy all you will see is blackness, like the empty void in Sean Spicer's head.
If you want the affect of seeing a pie come towards a camera hold the pie up to the lens but don't hit it. I did this in a video and I thought it came out well. However if you go the go-pro route and put the camera on the models head and pie the model you wouldn't see the pie hit at all.
"Strapping it to someone's forehead makes it seem, I dunno, so GoPro-ish and tacky. " I don't know how you would get the POV effect without having a waterproof camera attached to the person's head. I have tried putting a regular camera just over a person's head with a tripod and it just doesn't work. You need the wide angle to actually see the model.
I used to film with a GoPro in addition to the other cameras. It was fun but so much of the footage was jerky and not very good. The water-proof case also made the sounds terrible and so I'd have to watch without volume. Never tried it with the person getting muddy wearing it, though. It's worth a try. I am sure you can find an old GoPro for cheap.

Right. My thought is kind of the exact opposite, having *mostly* regular viewing with some POV added in. You would have the model & the mess as we usually see it, with some POV parts edited in for fun. But it may not be worth the hassle for a few minutes of POV in the finished vid .....
Ive shot a on pool shot before or in the pool nice and low down getting gunge on the camera is a pain having to keep wiping it but i believe some shots are best pov. I had other ideas but never really tried them out

The footage can be jerky but also with the ultra wide angle lens its not horrendous. This is some wetllok pov stuff I shot on the GoPro
We tried some nopro (cheaper versions) footage when I had a gunge tank session with JellynCustard last year she wore it in the tank to record the victim view, here's a bit of what we got.
I use the cameras quite a lot for various things, they're relatively good quality for the price so expendable if you want to try a shot where they might get knocked or damaged. The waterproof casings have worked fine for me so far - yes they muffle the sound but if you had openings to let the sound in, it'd let in everything you're trying to keep out in too! They're great to use as a secondary camera in a splash zone for additional angles, or just in places where you can't easily place a conventional camera - I've had them attached to curtain rails, gunge blasters and on tripods in pools.
It's something I'd love to try if I had the budget - that and multiple camera setups, which I have done once, and it worked well, though it was a pain to edit.
