We did something completely new in the Hall's dungeon today - TV-style gunge! We shot four back-to-back scenes featuring blonde Felicity and redhead Rosemary, using some awesome bright green gunge from Gunge Tank Babes. The girls totally loved using this stuff, to the extent that we're launching an all-new series (the "g" series) and when indoors will be mainly shooting with this stuff, instead of food, this year. Don't worry if you're a food mess fan though, we have eight years-worth of food-based scenes already in the release queue.
Question: Does anyone bother about still photos any more, or is video all that matters? Our Nikon D300 decided to pack up on us after the first scene, so the other three are video-only. Is it worth rushing to repair or replace the still camera, or would people be happy with video only (perhaps with vid-caps as photos) in the future? While I'll eventually fix or replace the camera for general use, am tempted to go video-only for new shoots for the site from now on.
Here are some quickly grabbed mobile phone shots of the first of the shoots - this gunge is awesome and very easy to mix, you just fill a bucket with warm water, get one of the plaster-mixer electric drill attachments, start mixing the water, pour in the powder slowly, mix it well till it starts to thicken, and let stand for an hour. Very highly recommended!
I actually prefer photos better. Most girls are not really interested in this fetish and it shows in the videos. Photos at least hide the "over acting" for the most part. Don't get me wrong, I love that any girl at least try's to be involved in WAM but the true love comes from a girl that actual enjoys WAM on her own and not just for profit.
Very interesting set of responses and votes so far!
TBH I'm surprised, given how our scenes with video massively outsell the early photo-only ones, I'd assumed still photos were all but dead as a WAM media form, however it appears not.
Regarding unenthusiastic models, while we have had a few scenes where looking back it's apparent the model was only doing it for the money, by and large we've avoided that particular problem, the set of models we regularly work with now all enjoy doing it and tend to be rather enthusiastic - for an example here are two of our girls, Friday and Daphne, having an awesome time in the Bristol mudbanks last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIamtVRSEA4
But I will admit to being a fan of still wam photos myself, some of my personal favourite shots are the ones where the messing is just about to start, or perhaps has started inside - the custard is being poured out of the tin and disappearing into the model's trousers but nothing is actually showing yet - there's something incredibly erotic about that moment of willing submission to the mess to come.
Fortunately we've scaled back shooting for a while (due to the eight year queue of unreleased scenes we have already shot) so will look into the options for a replacement wam-camera, and probably make a purchase before the 2016 mud season opens, which we expect to be in mid-April. Might shoot a few video-only tv-gunge scenes meanwhile and see how they do.
Two days left on the poll if anyone else wants to vote - thanks for all the votes so far, a very different result to the one I was expecting.
And as an example of the power of good photos, here's a shot from a few years back of young Maude pouring a litre of cold milk into the back of a wonderful pair of high-waist skin tight jeans, and feeling every inch as it floods down inside! It's from this set: https://umd.net/download_info/maude_gets_the_cream
SweetSophie said: I find videos are what a lot of people prefer, but some of my photo set packages eg 'SweetSophies First Wam Sets' is one of my biggest sellers to this day & feedback is always great. Possibly because photos sell better in packages as then there's lots to see.
This is the package of photos sets which you kindly helped me out by doing the camera work for when I first started up my own first messy SweetSophie website
Overall I find people still like both photos & videos
I prefer photos myself as Iv collected many wam photos. The reason for preferring photos myself is that when I see a still picture I like to continue the messy story in my mind But I also very much enjoy seeing girls genuinely having fun together & slopping goo & mud all get each other in excitement so I am enjoying your more recent video work too
Hi Sophie!
Glad to know that early work we did still sells - those were good times
I know what you mean about continuing the story in your head - that's the reason I love still photos too, you can find that perfect moment and capture it, and play the scene forwards in your mind - it's a kind of magic.
Thanks for the tip about packages - we've got a few packages (including the complete works of one Lady Elizabeth ), but probably should create some more, especially of the early sets that don't include videos. Ta again!

With answer to your question about stills. I still take them for promotion purpose. Social media etc.
I very rarely sell stills. Doing a photo shoot before filming is a good way to get your girls warmed up. So it's worth having some form of stills camera on your stock.
Hi Andy!
I'll let Rosemary know you're interested, I know you worked with Veronica before and she said you were cool to work with. Rosemary does tend to be very busy with her ladyship's horses though!
Given the outcome of the poll, will definitely be staying in the wam photo business, just need to decide whether to replace the D300 with another, repair it, or upgrade again, the D300 replaced our original D60 when that packed up - I tend to wear camera bodies out, as I take thousands of non-wam photos too. The shutter counter on the D300 is at over 151,000 - was 36,000 when I bought it a few years back.
In both cases the failures are related to the mirror mechanism, I wonder if this is a weak point of Nikon cameras after a lot of use? Tempted to possibly try one of the new "mirrorless" SLRs that are being made now - no mechanical shutter parts to fail, though suspect I'll always want a real DSLR too - when you shoot weddings, people expect the camera to make a noise!
