On "America's Funniest Home Videos" this Sunday there was a nice little scene involving a bucket of paint in a gender reveal. Was hoping it would get posted on their YouTube channel but in lieu of that I made a capture of it (sorry for the quality). For future reference it's from Season 29 Episode 14 and was the last clip in a gender reveal compilation that started about 37 minutes into the broadcast. The splorsh sound is pretty good if you can find it.
Intriguing. Is there a connection (in the US) between messy stunts and gender reveals? In the early days of YouTube a search for the term 'slime' would often yield results polluted by dozens of pre-natal gender reveal videos. I presumed it was the gel used for ultrasound that was being referred to as 'slime' and coming up in the result. This makes me wonder if there's some other tradition (?)

This is/was a thing?
Clearly not, then. I hoped someone might enlighten me.
