I've managed to find two willing models for a mud wrestling themed shoot indoors. I want to try and source clay that is safe for both of the ladies. I've had differing opinions offered a to whether to use bentonite or perhaps ball clay. Would appreciate any advice anyone could offer.

Ball clay has better coverage, add some RedArt to darken the color. All those clays are ok to play with.. however you need to be careful with the dust when mixing the powder to water, wear a mask.. once it's all wet and the dust is settle.. you are good to go

Bentonite clay will absorb water.. like more thank 5x it's volume of water.. so it's great if you want to fill a big pool, but that water
Absorbing can take 24h to work.. so prepare the day before if you want to use Bentonite. It produce a clay a bit see through.

You'd be surprised how far it can travel across the room in a wrestle no matter how carefully you choreograph. Are you hiring a venue?

Yep, might want to put some plastic tarps on the walls around

Thanks for the advice much appreciated. I'll definitely make use of plastic sheeting for the floor, walls and ceiling
