Howdy folks! Another remastering job before I get back to new scenes! This model is a personal favorite: Amber, AKA The Most Adorable Model in SS History. Yes, she stood 5-foot-nothing and weighed 100 pounds. Yes, she was a former beauty queen. Of COURSE she was in a sorority. (And of course I worked all this into skits.)
But most importantly, she had SO much fun getting messy. She called it "playing" and I really think that sense of silly, wholesome, PG-rated WAM is what made her so popular over the years. (That, and her unparalleled skill at pieing herself. I mean, that crust coverage!!) There's really no model to compare her to from the last 5 years.... Even the "sweet" ones now treat everything more like a business, well aware that they're performing for a fetish audience. But Amber hails from an era where it felt more like we were goofing around.... on camera.
[To wit: The "Bonus" footage from SS55 is simply a montage of what happened after each scene ended. Amber would want to "play" some more... and she dragged me into it. And it wasn't a sexual thing.... We really were just having fun, getting messy together, and the camera caught it. One of my fondest WAM memories, really. She blew off her friends to keep shooting since we ran so late!]
Some classic bits here: A beyond cute "Full Metal Pie" skit where Amber keeps marching despite being completely blinded with (her self) pies... The Slapstick Ninja doing karate chops and "Pie On, Pie Off"..... Some high kicks in the first appearance of the "sexy tuxedo look"... A sorority girl scene complete with milk, orange soda, and Amber getting tarred & feathered.... And, of course, the famous "Beauty Queen Sliming" where we really wrecked Amber's real pageant dress with SIX slimings.... plus confetti. (The sequel, where Amber hosts the "Slappy Awards" only to win every category for things that happen to her on the telecast.... is also pretty good. I watched the whole thing again, complete with random cuts to real-life celebrities circa 2007. Young me was figuring out how to edit!)
If you never caught Amber's clips, they're all remastered in the UMD Store or Vidown, along with the RAW footage as well. And streaming with your SS sub! Thanks for taking another trip down memory lane.... These are fun!
Sorry, it's not really upscaling. (I've experimented and found it doesn't really improve quality to offset artifacts, at least not yet.)
I originally rendered these as WMV at lower bitrates. Now that WMV is mostly a dead format and MP4 is universal, I went back to the original DVD files and re-rendered the scenes in MP4 at a higher bitrate. They're still 480p but they should look better with less artifacts.
Also, the older scenes had BTS footage added at the end that wasn't there in the originals... But Amber's SS36 was actually one of the first where I started adding Outtakes to the end of the edit initially. So these clips don't have any extra footage like the earlier ones do now.
Hope that helps! Also, if you wanna compare, some of the SS36 pics (without a copyright) are just screen grabs I took today from the new files. The rest are old screen grabs from 2007.
SlapstickStuff said: She still looks cute, in a mom sort of way! She's married and had a daughter in 2021.
Yeah, that answers one of my burning questions after buying 3 this morning. The other BQ's:
Why does your suit in the pageant gown scene (36/3) look much too big?
How did I miss these??
1) I needed to wear a suit as the "host" for this made-up pageant in a made-up skit... shot in a backyard. But I didn't particuarly like the idea of possibly wrecking one of my GOOD suits. So I wore an old one from the "boxy 90s" days.... and because I don't really change weight, it was indeed super huge. You'll be glad to know my actual suits from 2007 fit a lot better. Also, can't remember if that suit got wrecked or not.... Amber had to throw her gown away, not sure she envisioned that when she volunteered it.
2) You were overwhelmed by the 2000s-era onslaught of random producers opening stores, making random content for 3 months, then closing again? Or you skipped a few SS volumes along the way. Either/or!
7/21/23, 3:38pm: This post won't bump the thread to the top.
This is the moment that brought me to Slapstickstuff. Found the site, found Amber, and thought, "Wow, what a treasure trove."
For whatever reason the only other sites I'd found up until that point were Geocities sites that curated and archived stills from old TV content, so I think I just subconsciously assumed Slapstickstuff was similar...a collection of old preexisting content.
imagine my surprise a few weeks later when I came back and there was a volume 37 (with Toshia and "piece of pie")....and then 38...and here we are today.
