if by 'additions' you mean 'fillings' (topped with whipped cream), I've always preferred pudding (choco, butterscotch, vanilla, etc.)...pudding is cheap and makes a great looking mess.
Also, makes for a delicious pie. Hungry models will appreciate it!

Awesome!! That is exactly what I'm asking about. We used chocolate and vanilla Pudding in some of the pies in the photo attached to this thread.
I definitely enjoyed the Pudding as it covered/spread nicely but wasn't too sticky or heavy
Note: pudding right out of the cup or tub makes a great SPLAT effect (for thrown pies). Now for pushing' pies in the face, if you want a thicker gooier effect, you can add some corn starch to the pudding (also the cream if using/making a baker's type of cream)...just not too much corn starch (as it thickens easily with just a little added).
I suppose if you have time to concoct crazy mixtures for cool effects, you could get some great recommendations here. But I just do pudding and whipped cream. I buy pudding in the big cans (about a gallon each, 6 to a case). One can of pudding will net me about 5 pies' worth. Then 1 tub of whipped cream like you have in the pictures will be enough for 2 pies' worth.
I used to not care if it was chocolate or vanilla pudding, but since I use food coloring in my whipped cream, I started to not like the way the chocolate adulterated the colorful nature of my messes. So, I started using just vanilla pudding.
But lately I have begun coloring the pudding too and it makes the pies so vibrant and beautiful. In this pic, the pudding underneath is either green, blue, or purple. Looked awesome once my wife was done chucking them at me.

What's the best way to color them? I've hear washable poster paint? Obviously non-toxic hhaha
My wife and I make pies from cake brownie ect batter covered with cool whip, whipped cream, fluff or my favorite marshmallow creme. We've also had apple sauce pies chocolate syrup pies, and canned fruit aka pie filling.
A tub of cake frosting in the pie crust and then topped with cool whip or whipped cream makes a great heavy and sticky pie. Frosting feels amazing on the skin as well.

I buy neon food coloring. 10 oz. bottles. Amazon has tons of colors available.
I have a standard recipe of mixing whipped cream with either plain or vanilla yogurt. You can vary the proportions to your liking. Then, pour the whipped cream/yougurt mixture into a pie tin or shell. The yogurt adds weight to the whipped cream and makes a nice SPLAT effect. -D.
I like to add some colored cake batter to the bottom of the pies and then cover it with cool whip that way when they are used you get a nice color reveal. For a very sticky sloppy pie filling mix 2 large tubs of cool whip, 2 large containers of marshmallow fluff and 2 cans of frosting mix together in a bucket with a few cups of warm water fill pie tins, and enjoy. Mix a few drops of food coloring into a cool whip pie and you can make a nice swirl design.

Awesome feedback! Thank you we will have to try out the cool whip, fluffluff, and frosting mixture. That sounds glorious

Thanks for you feedback! I have never used yogurt but may have to try that soon

Ohhhh!!! That's splendid! We buy the small neon food color boxes from the grocery store....but we use green or puple WAY more than any other colors I'll have to look into those on Amazon

We use food coloring to get a variety of shades. But we also use Strawberry or yellow cake mix for more base colors.
One of our favorites is using red velvet cake mix. It gives such a gorgeous deep red

I just played with Fluff and that was so soft and sticky. I'll have to try out some tubs of frosting soon
I do pudding colored with food coloring, topped with cool whip, pies filled only with cool whip, fruit pie filling, sometimes I'll use shaving cream mixed with water as a topping, I've done cake batter as a filling, full pies of buttercream over flowing. Lots of options really

I forgot about yogurt yes that can be super messy and good size containers are relatively cheap.

It sounds like everything we do EXCEPT the shaving cream
I actually prefer just cream in my pies. I've found that layering pudding underneath the cream ruins the effect of the cream sticking on your face. The pudding basically makes it runnier and the cream gets washed off by the pudding leaving only pudding on the face. Which isn't a bad thing, but if you want a classic pie hit, I say very little pudding and a lot more cream. Marshmallow fluff can thicken cream, like a meringue, and cake frosting can make it stick better.
I'm also going to recommend you use a dairy free cream because dairy will curdle and smell really bad after about half an hour to an hour, especially when it gets up your nose and when mixed with your body heat. I've almost gotten sick from it before. Hope that helps!
