As you will probably know (if you don't then I am), I'm an advocate for Splosh, the magazine and videos, as I truly believe this era (along with some others), was a key part in the recognition of Wet and Messy, such a key part, Splosh, and Sploshing is now regular Wet and Messy lingo.
On the 5th of this month (July), it was 11 years since the very sad passing of Bill Shipton. I can't really believe I'm typing 11 years. To the many people who knew him, he was Clive. He was a writer, and to be honest, a wordsmith, but to most, he was Bill the founder of Splosh, and door opener to many into the world of Splosh and Wet and messy fun.
The amount of times I've read someone who believed they were one of a kind, but after discovering Splosh magazine realised they were no alone, it was a thing...and what an amazing thing it is.
There were only 40 issues of the magazine produced, and now each one is a holy grail to WAM, this also goes for the videos. One of the reason for this, is because after his passing, Splosh was not carried on, his relations didn't want it, so the website, and stock all disappeared. There will be (I'm sure), a warehouse stocked with old magazines and videos (probably like the one in Raiders of the Lost Ark, hee hee)
But to us all, they are not available, and this is what makes them sort after.
While browsing through my own Splosh stock, I realised, that of course it's Wet and messy fun, and we usual associate Splosh with good old pie fights, custard, rice pudding and baked beans, but on looking, there were some mighty find Mud sets as well.
So as my homage to the great man, who is sadly missed, here's the start of some Splosh Mud sessions.
Over the last 10 years Mike Elllson(WSM) has kept Bill's memory alive with a tribute at this time, so I am pleased that you have continued to remember the Splosh era.
He also liked to shoot the girls in "real mud" (river mud and quarry mud"), it's thick consistency and stickiness hands down beats powdered mud/clay in my opinion.
I also have a bunch of splosh VHS tapes that I haven't gotten around to digitising yet. Your tribute has spurred me on
It's been forever since I heard that name. Splosh used to make the rounds a lot during the peak of the community in the late-1990s and 2000s. Not surprising that not much of the backlog was archived when Shipton passed; the same fate that befell Aquantics/Aquadisiac.
I can still recognize some of the scenes posted here; when they were floating around 20 years ago. Would love to see more of these pics while the models were still clothed or in their lingerie. Part of the appeal is the thorough clothing coverage alongside the strip tease, something of a lost art now.
