Mix: Put the molasses in a bowl (without heating).
Coloring: Stir in the activated carbon powder until you reach a rich black.
Andicken: Slowly lower the cornstarch with constant stirring until the desired viscosity is achieved. If it is to look like old, tough tar, use more strength.
Structure (Optional): For "Asphalt Optics," you can add black sand or coarse coffee grounds.
