Writing UpdateBy PieWriterPosted 28 days ago 166 views
Well, things change, time passes, tomatoes grow and the neighbor's dog eats them.
Forget that last part, it's not apropos to the discussion.
SO. Where all the new stories at?
There won't be many new stories from this point forward. If I do craft one, it'll go up on my website and not here.
Why? That's a good question--thank you for asking.
One: lack of responses. If no one's reading, well then - why post them? I write for my own entertainment and share for others who may enjoy the same. But the lack of responses (from other than 2 or 3 people), and so on have confirmed for me that the stories I enjoy aren't necessarily stories the wider community enjoys.
Now MAYBE that's not true, but how would I know? No feedback - no data. No data - no determination.
Before anyone asks: this isn't about seeking recognition from wide-eyes admirers. It's about taking the time to format the text, paste it in, fix copy&paste errors.. in other words TIME. Why take the time to do it when my time can be spent elsewhere (like formatting it for my own website, and writing other stuff).
SO - I'll lurk here when I can. If you do like to read these vignettes I create, keep an eye on my website once in a while (subscribe if you're interested, you'll get emailed when new story is published. It's free and I don't send newsletters).
That's it. That's the blog post. Happy WAMming!

The problem is (and I've had the same frustration) is that WAM is a niche, and stories are a niche within a niche. There's never been more things to take up your attention, and particularly visual-focussed, photos, videos. There are a lot of people who do enjoy a great story, but also people who enjoyed it won't bother to leave feedback... look forward to seeing what's on your website, been a big fan of your stories for ages.
