It's been a bit of a crazy month, and I have been meaning to hit the blog here so I may as well talk about it.

Basically, the studios are in an old building in southern California and the previous occupants had done some of their own repairs on wiring. Dangerous repairs that were well hidden until we suddenly saw a couple of lights go pop and smoke coming out of a wall before a fuse finally popped.

We are in the desert and the buildings are made of wood. A little scary.

Long story short, I had to put a lot of budget in to not just fix the problem but to bump the wiring up to a standard I am not going to lose any sleep over.

We also had to go into the walls, so while we were at it we had a nice makeover. The last skill I ever really expected from making messy videos was to be in painting and decorating, but i am getting really quite good at it now! Last time I made a hash of the colors, which made the videos look a little... odd. This time, I nailed them and the new videos look great.

Speaking of the new video, it was great to have Emily back to shoot again. It's been a while so it's nice to come back in with someone we have worked with before and is a lot of fun to hang out with - Emily really knows her movies!

We were due to have someone else along, but running with the grain of my luck lately she didn't make it. Not the end of the world, because throwing pies and slime at Emily is reward enough and a great subject to test the new studio version and lights on.
