Wet clothed in public

It was oppressively humid in London today and after a long day at work I couldn't resist taking a walk in a big park near me with the promise of a thunderstorm brewing. I love the hot weather for bringing out men in sleeveless tops which put their shoulders on show. It was hot enough for me to go out in a unisex crop top singlet, cargo shorts and deck shoes and head to the park. It was nice to feel the warm air on me and I relaxed, walking to my favourite places around the park with big views over London and darkening clouds.

The thunder got a bit louder but I feared it may not rain. Eventually, walking around a rose garden I was rewarded by the feeling of gentle drops on my shoulders and arms as the rain began. As it became steadier, I noticed the difference between people still sitting on benches or slowly walking along, taking it all in, and those heading for shelter and putting up umbrellas. It was lovely to feel my head, shoulders and arms get incerasingly wet and parts of my top and shorts start to soak through. I paused several times by the ponds watching the large rain drops pound the water as they pounded me, and purposely walked through some long grass to feel my deck shoes get wet through too. I stopped by some blackberry bushes and enjoyed the sensory delights of the rain pouring all over me and reaching through the wet foliage and eating the berries. As it started getting cooler, I headed back and once out of the park, enjoyed feeing the heat still radiating off the streets and buildings through the rain.

I passed several men in wet shirts, some wet enough to see the colour of their skin through the material. I also passed a family with a young girl in the sort of dress I like to wear skipping happily through the rain. Maybe she'll continue such pleasures in the future. It felt a bit funny going up the stairs in my apartment building with my soaked garb and skin glistening wet. My flat was still quite hot but that was fine in my wet state - I didn't bother changing. Feeling cool in the wet clothes made it easier to cook and I began to dry out quite quickly - so quickly that I squirted some more water over me while cooking to prolong the pleasant experience.

Always take advantage of a summer rainstorm!. To be outside in the public dressed as pictured (and much wetter) added so much to an otherwise ordinary day.
