It's been about a week since I began my journey to starting my own studio. The response to my forum post was overwhelmingly positive. I received several messages from other users expressing their support, and I'm extraordinarily grateful for the connections I've made in such a short time. The folks I've met are some of the kindest you'd find anywhere in the world. I'm thankful for their suggestions, and flattered by their compliments.
One poster suggested I join a Discord server where I might throw out a line regarding finding a messy play partner. I joined the server, posted a picture and a bit about myself. I didn't get any responses within the server, though I did receive a few direct messages from members expressing their support, and I'm sincerely thankful for them as well.
Unfortunately, I think my preferences put me in a bit of a tight spot, that is - I'm only attracted to women. The reason this is unfortunate will likely be apparent to anyone who's been here for any significant length of time. Much like the economics of supply and demand, there is an abundance of men and male-presenting persons relative to the number of female and female-presenting members. By my estimate, the ratio is approximately 15:1 (and I'm an optimist).
I try not to think about it though. The thorns of reality can be especially painful when you find them on the road to a lifelong dream. I'm determined to wake up with a smile each day, and to live the fullest life that I can until my dreaming days are over.
I'm hopeful that if all of us who share the same dream will do our best to promote it for one another, that we'll all have the desires of our hearts.
Love you guys. I'll post an update next week.

^To be clear, I recognize that gender is wide spectrum of expression, and I want to be careful to represent people in a way that is respectful to them. My language here might be somewhat reductive, but it's a product of me using the best words I know to use. Please let me know if I can improve.

I'm thinking I might label these with something more exciting than "Week 1, Week 2, etc." Since I frequently find myself making mental soundtracks for my life, I think I'll just put up a song title that feels relevant to my mood. (This is one is by The Doors - I'm a big fan!). Okay, enough rambling.
