Tracksuit time.

Hello fellow wet lookers,
It's been snowing last night & the banks of the river are still coated in a thin layer of the white stuff.
I've been issued with some winter track suit pants for when we have to work out in the field. They are a sort of polyester fleecy arrangement. They are navy blue with yellow bits on the legs & reflective bands on the legs. They are shiny & slippery to the touch.
Today we had to go out on the river in a small aluminium runabout type of boat with a small outboard motor on it. This was for a team building exercise with some lovely ladies from the office. They were dressed in tight dark blue jeans & white turtleneck sweaters.

The river is a bit quirky & you need to know you way around it to successfully operate these boats upon it. We pointed this out to the management but they insisted that the girls take the helm for the cameras. I didn't have a problem with this but mentioned that it shouldn't happen in this particular part of the river due to white water rapids & strong currents with many submerged hazards such as logs & rocks. I suggested that this exercise should take place in a more calm & safe part of the river. I was overridden by the management & so the exercise took place.

Sure enough one of the boats got its propeller caught in a submerged tree & much panic & shouting took place. Because of the noise of the river it was almost impossible to communicate effectively. Two girls ended up stranded more or lees in the middle of the river. They were calling out, " What do we do now? How do we get back? We're stuck." This boat was going nowhere & the more they tried to free it the worse the situation became. In the end it became apparent that it was completely stuck. They would just damage the motor trying to break free. Someone was going to have to enter the water & untangle the propeller.
No one but me wanted that job. It was going to be cold in that water with bits of ice in it but what a good chance to wet this shiny new thick winter hooded track suit, orange fluorescent long sleeved turtleneck skivvy, long sleeved button up hi vis shirt, beanie & steel capped work boots. I had underpants briefs, a singlet vest & thermal long Johns underneath all of this & a thick waterproof hi vis long winter hooded coat over everything else. You know the ones with a high neck & a flap that snaps closed to protect half your face from the rain & the cold. My track pants were tucked neatly into my heavy duty thick woolly winter socks & I was wearing yellow rain pants over the top of them. It was now time to demonstrate my leadership & manliness. I was ready to go swimming.

After a discussion with management that made it quite apparent that none of them would be happy to go into the river & get wet it was agreed that I was to be the one who entered the water fully clothed. No point messing about. I was the man. I grabbed a knife & started to wade out into the river. In the meantime the boat suddenly turned & dug its bow into the raging white water sending a spray of water over the girls & part filling the boat. If that boat took on any more water it would probably capsize. It was now or never.

I noted with pleasure that the girls got splashed & it partially wet their turtleneck sweaters & blue jeans quite nicely. They squealed with the shock of the cold water but they giggled good humouredly. I know one should be a gentleman & try not to look but I couldn't help noticing that one girls turtleneck was a lot wetter than the other one. It had turned partially transparent & I could clearly see her bra through the wet material. She had beautiful shapely breasts that made me firm up.
Realising that I had to quickly snap out of it,(no pun intended,) I dived into the river & swam out fully clothed to the boat. Although the water was bloody cold it felt great to be swimming in my work tracksuit, boots, socks gloves & beanie & thick waterproof hooded hi vis winter jacket & rain pants. I wish I could have found the time to inflate the baggy pants & many layers but there was work to be done.
I cut the propeller free & climbed aboard. This wasnt easy wearing all this heavy winter clothing & having heavy boots filled with water but I managed it with their help. They were very glad to see me. I started the engine with difficulty & manoeuvred the little boat back to relative safety.
To anyone who wasnt a sheltered office worker they weren't really in that serious a situation however I was suddenly a hero. I was asked by management if was going to be OK. I replied that I was fine & I would find something to change into once we returned to the work place.
You see I'm a bit of a river rat whose quite used to getting wet. Besides I really enjoyed the sight of those wet shiny dark blue jeans & almost transparent turtleneck sweaters. My track pants were lovely & shiny too. Even though the girls avoided having to swim for it & get completely soaked their partial wetness was a nice sight. I think deep down they probably didn't mind it even thought we were all a bit cold.
I looked in one of the vehicles & found some blankets. I put them over their shoulders & made us all some coffee from my flask. We had a good laugh about it & gave the management a bit of shit for their bad judgement. When I returned to base I couldn't find anything to change into except for another plastic rain suit with rubber gum boots without socks. I just wrung the water out if my underpants briefs, put them back on & wore the rain suit & boots over the top with nothing else. It was cold but kinky especially because no one else knew that I only had underpants on underneath the suit. All in all It was a fun day.

Sometimes it's just great to be outdoors in the real world especially if it means an excuse to get wet. It's just a pity about the paperwork involved.
Cheers, Winter Woolly Wetboy.
