The First Dare: Script and Game Plan!

Things are starting to look better and filming is set to start soon! We've decided to let some friends try out a few of our messy dares first due to scheduling, but my wife Dani is all set to start herself in August or September depending on the weather, work and other outside circumstances.

We had a lot of unfortunate setbacks but they're all finally behind. Apple's poor decision to replace Final Cut Pro with a beefed up iMovie was one of the biggest. I'm a professional videographer and I've used Final Cut since version 5. With FCPX turning a once great tool into a pile of crap, I had to quickly adapt to and learn Adobe Premiere so I could keep up with my clients. Fortunately, I had already been using Encore for DVD authoring as DVD Pro had no Blu Ray option, so that was one time saver. Taking the time to learn a new NLE made finding time for filming quite tricky. We also recently moved from Florida to Massachusetts so I could get more options for my video business (we're in Springfield) and starting up from scratch is certainly not fun!

Anyway, with my wife all set to go in the coming months, I've decided to share the plan for her first dare on the show! Certainly won't be as good as watching the real thing, but this is sort of a guideline for how it will go down. She has no problem getting really messy with this and is really looking forward to it! In her own words; "Make it as messy as possible, the messier the better!"

Episode 1: Nickelodeon Dare

Items required:

6 cakes (cheap ones from Walmart or Hannafords)
2 cream pies (chocolate, banana or Boston cream)
2 buckets of slime (color pending)
4 cans of chocolate frosting
1 paddling pool and plastic sheets/drop cloths

For this dare, we will set up the inflatable paddling pool and line the inside and surrounding area with plastic sheets or drop cloths (anything disposable will do fine) and a seat will be in the center of the pool. This arrangement keeps the mess contained and cleaning it up is as easy and picking up the sheets and stuffing them into a contractor bag. Preferably done outdoors so the hose can be used, but it is very easily done indoors as well with some minor rearranging.

Dani will be wearing a bikini and her hair down in order to maximize the mess and get the most fun out of the whole thing (she'll wear a swimsuit for pretty much all the dares we do, easier to clean up and gives the best results). Once in the dress code, she'll sit down in the pool's center and be prepared to be turned into a pile of goo.

To start, I'll take one of the cakes and gently smoosh it into her face, squishing it around until it's nearly flat, then smearing it through her hair as far as it'll go, giving her a nice, gooey streak. Next, I'll set a cake down near her and she'll stick both of her feet into it, ankle deep. She'll squash them into the cake a few times, making sure to really get it between her toes and under her toenails and will wear it likes shoes for the remainder of the dare.

From here, I'll get ready to give her the cake sandwich. I figure I'll build a little tension and give her a few false starts before smooshing both cakes into the side of her head, then really work them both all over her face, top of her head and again smearing them through her hair. By this point she should have quite the pile on top of her head and in her lap, and her hair will be almost completely clogged with frosting and chunks of leftover cake (I'll leave a few chunks in her hair so they can dribble down her back until the dare is over). I'll then take another cake and smoosh it on top of her head and cover up any remaining clean spots on her face or in her hair. For the last cake, I'll have her stand up and slip it onto her seat. She'll then sit down on top of it, soaking in it as if it were a couch cushion. This should be done with a particularly gooey cake or a partially melted ice cream one.

With the cakes finished, she'll need something to wash off with, so it's onto the slime! Our slime is made with a mix of water, Bisquick (or flour, but this requires a lot of vegetable oil in order to keep it from turning to paste!) and coloring. It will be quite thick and sticky, but not so much that it won't pour and run easily (a nice in-between mix). While looking up, I'll tease her with a trickle of slime, then pour the whole bucket over her, making sure it lathers her face, hair, chest and legs, with a nice puddle of goop soaking in her lap alongside the cake chunks. Before moving on, I'll let Dani marinade in the slop she's covered in so far, getting improvised comedy out of the routine and giving her a chance to really clean off her eyes so she's ready for the next part.

After the quick break, I'll get the two cream pies ready. Here, she'll get another sandwich but in reverse. Like before, I'll give her a few false starts to build up the tension, them smoosh them into her face and the back of her head. I'll let the first pie plop down her chest, and smear it over her belly and legs; I'll lather her back and sides with the leftovers from the second pie.

Now the frosting gets a moment to shine! For this portion, I'll scoop out a handful of frosting from the container, and smear it all over her face. One can should cover everything, so the second will be used to thickly lather her hair. I'll let her play around with it and make sure it's in heavy enough so that it's flopping around nicely, and smearing her back and shoulders in additional goo. The third can of frosting will be used to further cover her face, neck, ears, and shoulders, and the fourth will be used to put a nice little coating on her legs. I will save a good sized lump for her to smoosh her cake covered feet into as well.

Now that Dani's been turned into a giant, gooey pile of cake, I'll wash her off with the last bucket of slime, again making sure it covers her head, chest, legs and back (and sticking the bucket over her head as she soaks in the last of the filth). For the finale, she'll lie back in the pool and marinade in all the leftovers, rolling around a bit to further her already massive coverage.

For cleanup, she'll wait in the pool and get hosed down as much as possible before taking a long shower to get the rest of the goo off. If done indoors, she'll was up the best she can with paper towels and a bucket of warm water before heading to the shower.

The total time it takes to complete the dare should be 20 to 30 minutes. Photos and video (2 angles) will be shot.

I know it's not as good as seeing it happen for real, but just hold on a little longer and this will be coming soon!
