The You Can't Do That On Set Chronicles: Season 2, Episode 1By The Man and The WifePosted 1/15/25 660 views
Welcome back to the You Can't Do That On Set Chronicles! It's here that I'll be keeping track of info about our 'You Can't Do That On Set' video series episode by episode. This includes any of the series first-evers, fun facts, and behind the scenes happenings. YCDTOS has since become my favorite thing to do for our store.
Season 2, Episode 1
Release Date: 04/22/2022
Premise: "The News Special"
Cast: The Wife, Ellie, Lilly, Bree, Tori, Violet
Notes:
- Two new cast members: Tori and Violet
- The largest cast of any episode to this point
- The fourth episode in a row where Bree gets watered
- Bree's watering was poured out of a watering can, hoping to somewhat simulate rain
- This is the first 'special' episode, focusing extra hard on an overall theme and/or gimmick
- The Producer decided that 4 episodes a year was a bit too ambitious. Therefore, he began to refer to this episode as the official end of Season 1/Start of Season 2. Noting that each season would have 3 episodes total instead of 4. But with one being a special episode.
- The first time a themed backdrop was used in the series
- The first time running skits were used throughout an episode. This included the two main characters
playing news anchors along with them continuously checking in on Tori and Violet throughout
- All of The Wife and Lilly's news anchor bits were shot at the same time and after all other shooting for the episode was complete
- The Wife and Lilly's double sliming was the first time in our entire store's history we had girls get slimed by separate buckets of slime at the same time
- The other bucket holder was Lilly's boyfriend
- The first chocolate slime used in the series (thrown at Bree)
- During Bree's skit, the backdrop was unintentionally knocked over by the thrown bucket of chocolate. This would later be written into the scene when Wife and Lilly recorded their bits for the episode
- Though the 'Lilly's Joke Corner' skit appeared in the 2nd and 3rd episode, and would appear more throughout the series, this is the first episode to not feature it
