http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saliromania:
"Salirophilia is a sexual fetish or paraphilia that involves deriving erotic pleasure from soiling or disheveling the object of one's desire, usually an attractive person. It may involve tearing or damaging their clothing, covering them in mud or filth, or messing their hair or makeup."
It has dawned on me that perhaps most of the wammers out there who like clothed wam are really salirophiliacs. They love the transformation of a pretty model to a messed up one; for a snooty dressed-up lady smoking a long cigarette to be humiliated and put in her place. They wanna see ladies in gleaming white wedding gowns get trashed, and satin and fur-donned women wrestle in something permanently soiling. Wam is the means to this end. Wam is not the end itself.
I don't see this so much as an overlap as I see it as wam being the tool that allows saliromania to happen.
I am thinking that this is true for people who like anything from muddy high heels and business suits, to pies and slapstick, to dunk tanks and head dunking. These categories all seem to be angles on the common theme of soiling someone or something that was once clean and perfect. This is why head coverage is so important. It's why nudity has no place in wam for certain people. It's why it's important for the models to be clothed, and the more expensive the clothes the better.
The opposite side of the spectrum has people who see clothes as an obstacle that is just in the way. They couldn't care less whether a blouse got muddy: They want to see the
girl get muddy! These people have no interest seeing a nice, pure model "get it," and probably have no interest in seeing the face and hair get messy either. A hot girl (or guy) that is just naked and covered in chocolate will do the trick. Or maybe it won't. For these people, when a model gets messy and then the video or photo set is over, it can be frustrating, like watching a movie that ends right when it's getting good. To seal the deal, there should be some sort of masturbation or sexual act involved. Even if there is no sex, to these people the idea of wam is the lubrication which makes possible whole-body tantric experience. It is the slipperiness against one's skin, or the slickness between two bodies that is the turn on. For some it may even be arousing just because the other party is "dirty and deviant," conveying a certain carnal openness and readiness for sexual activity. It seems to me that in this case, wam
is the end, not a device or tool with which to alter clothing or a person's status in order to arrive at the psychological satisfaction associated with a saliromania fetish.
In other words, if it is necessary for clothes to get tarnished, hair to get soiled, shoes to get ruined, or for perfectly made-up models to get pied in the face along with a genuine surprised reaction, then the fetish is really all about the breaking of the taboo of disheveling something that was once perfectly good. This is what saliromania is. And wam is the perfect tool to make it all happen, but is it interchangeable with other devices that could cause a similar effect? Is it equal to and interchangeable with, say, clothes ripping?
I am not saying that clothing-lovers are not wammers. Obviously if it includes wam at any level, and you like it, you are a wammer. I am only submitting the idea that there may be a hierarchy of fetishes here--not just an intersection of them--and that wam may not actually be at the top of that hierarchy for some of us, even die hard wammers. There are also many other preferences that are better left to other discussions, such as being into saliromania-type wamming but still preferring the nudity.
I am proud of our community's ability to get along, given the dozens of permutations and combinations with other fetishes that we all prefer. I think it would be even better if we could understand the real reasons why we like what we like.
