Recovery part 2By LeilaPosted 11/17/13 2098 views
I am so happy to announce that I was discharged from the hospital this morning! Doing anything is still a challenge but it feels great to not be stuck in a hospital bed constantly. My activities are going to be very limited for some time, really the only thing I can do is get up and walk periodically and just doing that requires me to be on a lot of meds. My husband has been doing a great job of being my personal assistant. The first thing I wanted to do when I got home was shower which was rather awkward. I had to sit in a chair in the shower while my husband helped me wash and do my hair. It felt so great to actually be clean! He then went out and got me some real food since the hospital food was absolutely disgusting. This experience is really helping me appreciate all the little comforts of a normal life. Well as "normal" as my life can really be. My recovery process will be very slow, there is really no way around that after having a ton of metal implanted in your spine! I am still very positive that things will go well and this will help me in the long run.
