I thought I'd share this story with anyone interested. Back in 1997, I had just moved in with what was to become my wife, later my ex-wife...but that's another story. I had told her up front about my interest with pies and messy food. It turned out that she had a food "interest" of her own. She loved the idea of the whole thing. Anyhow, later that year, when my birthday rolled around, she planned something that would turn out to be one of the best days of my life. Don't get me wrong, I had gotten messy before. I've always been pretty open about it with girlfriends over the years, but this one was different. See, she was a single mother of 4, barely scraping by financially. She couldn't afford to buy me anything as a gift. Instead, she took her directional card (today's equivalent to food stamps) and bought 35 banana cream pies from a local bakery. She had them special made with extra whipped cream topping and had stuff written on top of each one. Things like "i love you" and "happy birthday". When I got home from work that day, I found my bedroom empty of all furniture and covered in plastic. 35 pies lay around the room, a video camera on the tri-pod and her naked on the floor in the middle of it all! We had the most sensual pie fight ever and topped it off with sex on the floor in the mess. After it was all said and done, she removed the video tape from the camera, wrote "happy birthday, baby" on the label and handed it over. What a gift! The funny thing is later we were discussing the whole experience and she told me that the employee making the special-order pies asked what all those pies were for. She just smiled and replied "my boyfriend and i are going to get naked and have a pie fight for his birthday." I can only imagine the look on his face!
