Managing the more complex WAM Game forfeitsBy iain-ecgungePosted 1/16/25 151 views
I mentioned the other day that I'd cobbled together a form of WAMstructions to take me through a forfeit. It worked quite well. There is room for improvement however, it's hard to know how long to allow for the various stages as some actions take longer than others. things like "the next spin of the wheel of mess fortune is" pause "pie. The pattern of speech can be a bit off, and it can be a off with the tone. I've yet to find out how it does with gunge - if it calls it goonge does that mean i can skip that one!?
They are quite simple to put together, especially if it fits a gameshow scenario. Here's an extract from my upcoming roun d of Press Your Luck:
It's Press! Your! Luck! I'm your host Amy. This is the show where a press of the button can bring riches or humiliation! <break time="10s" />
Press! Your! Luck! And first up we have: <break time="10s" /> Whammy! <break time="5s" /> it's a shaving cream shampoo for you! <break time="10s" />
Press! Your! Luck! <break time="10s" /> 100. <break time="10s" />
Press! Your! Luck! <break time="10s" /> 100, taking you up to 200. <break time="10s" />
Press! Your! Luck! <break time="10s" /> Double whammy! <break time="5s" /> It's a full can of shaving cream over yourself! And, of course, your prize money has gone. <break time="10s" />
It's certainly better than trying to remember the order and what you're to do with things. For me having it scribbled on a bit of paper is a non-starter.
