Game Plan: The Oatmeal Bath!

Here is a game plan for one of the dares that I'm really looking forward to: The Oatmeal Bath! This one is rather simple in its premise and layout, but much more elaborate in overall setup and method. This one may be done as part of season 1, but if not it will definitely be a part of season 2, possibly the opener. The reason for this being that this dare has to be done outdoors, so it has to be done in the spring, summer or early fall when the weather is conducive. The hose will be needed to wash off with, and to dispose of the leftover oats, they are best buried at least a foot or two and even better in a compost pile. This allows them to be recycled and prevents animals like skunks, raccoons and opossums from heavily populating the yard!

This one also can take a while to get ready. The oats have to be bought in bulk, and the best kind to use are quick rolled oats (I'll explain in a bit). 50 pound bags can be purchased on Amazon, but from our experience, it can take weeks or months for oats to ship. They are best ordered in advance, then a date for the dare can be set after they arrive so it can be filmed on a warm, sunny day with no risk of rain, cold or thunderstorms.

To better prepare her for this one, I plan to give Dani a simple gunging with oatmeal beforehand so she has an idea of what it will feel like.

Episode (pending): The Oatmeal Bath

Items required:

One or two 50 pounds bags of oatmeal
1 or 2 bags of flour
1 fairly large plastic tote
1 bucket

The setup for this dare requires a bit of planning. The paddling pool has enough room, but may require more oats to make the bath work, and they are not too cheap in bulk. To overcome this, we can use a plastic tote from Walmart or another department store; this is the most likely solution to get the most out of the oatmeal. The tote should be long and a little tall, at least four feet long and a foot or more high, something Dani can sit back in like a bathtub, and still allow room for her to go completely under if she sticks her legs out a bit.

Mixing the oatmeal is also going to take some time. To start, we'll fill the tote with the uncooked and dry oatmeal. We will then carefully add water from buckets and start mixing it together while in the tote. This will require hot water from inside, or cold water from the hose. We've used both to try it out, and cold water works fine, it just takes twice as long and a bit more mixing to make it bond. Quick rolled oats absorb the water very quickly and very well with both hot or cold. We'll also be using a gardening shovel to mix it with. Once the oats start to thicken and the volume is right, we'll add the bags of flour. We've found that this creates a very gooey and sticky oatmeal as it helps to further bind the oats and remove any excess water so it's not like soup. Some vegetable oil can be added to keep it from turning to paste.

At this point, we'll let the oatmeal bath warm up a bit in the sun while Dani changes into her bikini and I set up the film equipment. For this dare, she will be wearing her hair in a pouffy ponytail similar to the way she has it in her bikini picture on our profile. A bucket will also be filled with a hefty dose of oats from the bath and left on the side.

Like The Bucket Dare, this one will have a game show formula but instead of trivia questions, will involve timed puzzles and other games. Failing three of them will result in her taking a soak in the oatmeal as a forfeit. The games will start relatively easy, but very challenging ones will be introduced to guarantee her failure. These will include: solving a Rub-ix Cube in less than 30 seconds, 8 Queens (a logic puzzle involving chess) in under a 30 seconds and another such as the black dots illusion puzzle. After failing the third, the oatmeal bath will be unveiled and she will prepare to take the plunge!

This one will be taken slowly. To start off, she'll be sitting on the edge of the tote in a lawn chair. I'll then give her a countdown from 10; when we reach 0 she'll stick both her feet into the bath and slowly work them into the oatmeal before pulling them out for the cameras. She should have a good mound of goo mushed between her toes, under her toenails and clumped around her ankles. Next, Dani will stand up and slosh around in the bath for a little bit before slowly beginning to sit down in the tub. She should gently smoosh her legs under the oats, then stand up again for a bit to observe the coverage before resuming her sit. I'll have her hesitate a bit as her butt gets near the surface, then have her smoosh her ass right into it; oatmeal oozing over her legs, waist and butt as she squishes herself in.

Next, she'll lie back as far as she can, letting the oatmeal work its way over her belly, arms and hands. She can stick her legs out a bit and sink down to her shoulders, covering her back and getting the oats further up her chest and up to her neck. I'll have her ponytail kept outside of the oats so she can really mess up her hair later on. Now she can roll over onto her belly, covering up any clean spots that were missed. She can roll around a bit in the slop, letting it cover her whole body from the neck down.

After this, she'll dip her face in the oatmeal, again coming out to pose for the camera, then going under a bit deeper this time. She can now run a good handful of goop through her hair and really clog her ponytail up with the oats. At this time, I'll take the bucket that's been waiting off to the side and smoosh the whole thing over her head, rather than pouring it over her. I'll keep the bucket planted on her head for a little bit, letting oatmeal plop over her chest and down her back and butt. If she wants, a few more buckets can be filled from the tote and smooshed and poured over her.

Dani will now be able to soak however she wants for the remainder of the dare. By the end, she should have large clods of oatmeal stuck all over her face, behind her ears, caked to her hair and smeared all over her body, covering her head to toe completely (as well as large wads stuck between every finger and toe). She'll be given the chance to hose off, then can take a warm shower and get any leftovers off of her.

The dare itself should last about 45 minutes (counting the game show portion) and will probably be uploaded on our official site in two parts to make it easier. If we ever release DVDs, it will be one whole segment as well as bonus behind the scenes footage!
