Freshman slimed at OrientationBy h361361Posted 9/21/24 425 views
Dear Journal,
Wow, what a day! I can't believe I'm finally here at Stanford. The campus is even more beautiful than I imagined, and the energy is just electric. Today was orientation, and it was packed with activities to help us get to know each other and the campus better. But the highlight (or maybe the lowlight?) of my day was definitely the "Batter Up" game show.
So, here's how it went down. We were all gathered in this big auditorium, and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. They called for volunteers for this game show, and of course, my friends dared me to go up. Never one to back down from a challenge, I went for it. Little did I know what I was getting myself into!
The game was simple: one unlucky freshman would get a bucket of cake batter poured over their head. And guess who that unlucky freshman was? Yep, yours truly. As soon as they announced my name, my heart started racing. I walked up to the stage, trying to keep my cool, but inside I was freaking out.
They had me tilt my head back, and before I knew it, I felt this thick, cold, gooey substance cascading over my head. It was cake batter, but it felt like a waterfall of slime. It was so thick and heavy, and it just kept coming. I could hear the audience laughing and cheering, but all I could think about was how ridiculous I must look.
When it was finally over, I was completely covered in green cake batter. It was in my hair, on my face, and even down my back. I couldn't see a thing, but I could hear my friends laughing hysterically. They helped me off the stage and took a million pictures, of course. I must have looked like a monster from a horror movie, but I couldn't help but laugh too. It was gross and hilarious all at the same time.
Afterwards, I had to take the longest shower of my life to get all the batter out of my hair. But you know what? It was totally worth it. It was such a fun and memorable way to kick off my time here at Stanford. I feel like I've already made some great friends, and I can't wait to see what other crazy adventures are in store for me.
Here's to an amazing freshman year!

 Love you, too
