End of the year mud slide

So this only just happened. This morning I decided to go for a walk on this nature path that is called a 'welly path', because, well, you need wellies to walk over it if you don't want wet and muddy feet. I wore normal clothes, grey jeans and a blue sweater. I also wore a black raincoat and black Hunter wellies, and took rain pants with me in case the mud got too bad.

I had walked the path before so I knew how it was going to be. The mud was about ankle deep. Halfway through, I put on my rainpants and continued. Feeling playful, and knowing I was protected, I started jumping in the muddy puddles, getting some on my rainpants. Then, near the end of the path, I felt an urge to do a mud-slide.

But wouldn't my clothes get too muddy? I didn't bring any spare ones and had to do a 40-minute bicycle trip home. Well, the rainclothes will protect them. But won't anybody see me? Well, I didn't see anyone on the path. You know what? It's the end of the year, let's do something crazy to end the year, shall I? I tucked my sweater in my rainpants, did my raincoat up, fastened the sleeves and... just went for it. I took a running start, dove towards the ground, and slid through the mud.

Yeah, my rainsuit was muddy now. Both the coat and the pants. I stood up and admired myself, muddy from the chest down. Should I do it again? Why not, I was muddy anyway. I took another running start and made another slide. Well, that didn't change much since I was already covered in mud.

I stood there for a moment, then took my jacket off and washed it in a stream that was conveniently next to the path. I did the same with my rainpants, but kept the wellies on - after all, muddy wellies are just part of walking a welly path. My sweater and jeans were... okay. They weren't 100% clean, but they weren't so muddy that you would notice it immediately. So, taking my raincoat and rainpants with me in my bag, I went home. A nice end to the year.
