My workplace always gets behind initiatives such as Comic Relief and this time was no exception. One of my friends cooked up the idea of "The Mud Bucket Challenge". Unlike the famous ice bucket challenge, this wasn't a pour over the head job, but a big bucket of thick mud that victims would be made to stand in! People were sponsored to step into the bucket, those that attracted the most bidding were made to get dirty!
When my turn came I relished the moment. I had dressed down a bit for the day, but had some nice skinny jeans on, with a favourite pair of slip on ballet pumps. My socks were lovely Winnie The Pooh ones, with Eeyore the donkey on them! The mud was really thick and I loved the sensation of it swallowing my shoes! Eventually they came off because of the stickiness and I suffered very muddy socks. I enjoyed being the centre of attention and getting all dirty in public, it's always such a thrill! I am relieved to report that my beautiful socks are as good as new after being washed. They will live to soldier on, maybe into another muddy experience one day.........
