Recently, I took part in a fun quiz night as a fundraiser with my work colleagues. Where it differed from a normal quiz was the fact that at various points throughout the night people that were deemed to have performed poorly were ordered into a bath full of mud. Most people had taken the precaution of dressing with this in mind, but I certainly didn't! I wore a favourite pair of shoes, some amazing brand new socks and a really nice pair of skinny jeans (see pictures). I really hoped I'd get the chance to play in the mud because it looked beautifully squelchy and thick!
I wasn't disappointed! My performance in the "sport" round was assessed as hopeless and I was called up to take my punishment! As I lowered my pretty shoes into the mud I couldn't believe how soft and lovely it felt. It was deeper than it looked too, coming over my shoes and plastering itself all over my new socks! As the audience jeered and laughed at me I found myself unable to keep my shoes on my feet in the sticky oozy gloop, and I was soon squelching around in only my socks! The quizmaster made me first kneel down in it, and then finally sit down. By the time I got back to my table to continue the quiz, I was very muddy indeed, with mud filled shoes squelching noisily!
