Partially true story: Every summer, my city hosts a "Riverfest". A combination music festival / carnival in Riverside Park along the shores of The Rock River in S. Wisconsin. One year I was working at the food court - (sorta kinda) - as I had to make frequent deliveries of pizza to our restaurant's food booth. We didn't have a mobile kitchen. As I was making my last delivery of the day and was looking forward to enjoying the carnival, one of the female employees working at the booth was ending her shift at the same time. Our food stand was situated next to a Bumper Boats carnival ride. You've seen bumper cars? These are giant inner tubes equipped with two seats, a steering joystick and outboard motor and a giant 3-ft. deep swimming pool. It was a hot day and working around the portable pizza warmer did not make it better. She looked adoringly at the boat ride and imagined going for a swim, coyingly explaining that she "fell out of her boat". DISCLAIMER - The following is fiction: Seizing the moment, I asked her if she'd like to do it. I'll go with her since my shift was over too. We bought our coupons and climbed into a tube. I advised her it wouldn't be a good idea to fall out while the ride was in progress. Reason 1: We had to keep our seat belts on and Reason 2: it would be dangerous with the other boats running around. We waited til we docked at the end. As my friend stood up to step back onto the dock, she did her best "Nestea Plunge" falling backwards into the pool. I offered to pull her out, but (OK, I'm sure you've seen this scenario - One person offers to pull another OUT of the pool only to have the person IN the pool pull the helper in) sure nuff, I joined her. By this time, the ride operator suspected this was no "accident" and threatened to call security if we did not exit the pool. No matter, we were cooled off and looked forward to walking around dripping wet. We were both in our "uniforms" - consisting of an issue red, white & pastel blue polo shirt (I'm sure you can determine what pizza chain I was working for) and khaki slacks / pants and sneakers. Her slacks became form-fitting to her great legs!
